Bartrum's "Welsh Genealogies".

In 1063, CYNAN ap IAGO (RIN 2577), king of Gwynedd and Powys, was

killed. His rightful heir, GRUFFUDD (RIN 2575) was only 8 years old and

living in Ireland with his mother. At that time Bleddyn assumed control

of the kingdom of Gwynedd and his brother, RHIWALLON, asumed control

of the kingdom of Powys. Bleddyn was killed in 1075 by Rhys, the

brother of MAREDUDD ap OWAIN (RIN 936). His kingdom passed to his

cousin, TRAHAERN AP CARADOG (RIN 4653). When Trahearn was killed at

Mynydd Carn in 1081 GRUFFUDD (RIN 2575 above) finally inherited his

kingdom.

"Debrett's Royal Scotland" supplies this link, and David Nash Ford

, citing a late source in his possession, adds that her

name was Mendog. However, this is wholly unknown to Bartrum, "Welsh

Genealogies", and is therefore rather doubtful.
