. "The father of Konstantinos Monomarchos, Theodosius, is named by
Psellos (p.161) but no mention is made of K's mother. Werner Seibt,
following Psellos (162-163, 180ff), credits Konstantinos with three
wives and one mistress. The name of the first is unknown. The second
whose first name is unknown was the only daughter of Basileios Skleros
and Pulcheria sister of the emperor Romanos III Argyros. Zoe was the
third wife. His mistress was the sebaste Maria Skeraina a first cousin of
Konstantinos' second wife. Seibt (p.71 note 250) holds that the wife of
Vsevelod was Maria daughter of K's second marriage. Vannier (p.35 note
5) following Poppe (p.627 note 181) calls Vsevelod's wife Anastasia and
has her as the daughter of K by his mistress Maria Skleraina. Seibt
(pp.75-76) seems successfully to rule out Maria Skleraina being the
mother of Vsevelod's wife.
