According to "An Island Refuge - Loyalist and Disbanded Troops on the Island of Saint John" (Prince Edward Island was at one time called St. John.) : p. 298- ". . . Elizabeth and Charles lived in the old Murray home at Frederickton. Charles was a trustee, and elder of Breadalbane Christian Church for many years. . . Seven boys were born to them at Frederickton. About 1903 they moved to Breadalbane, where Charles, who appears to have been somewhat of a millwright, operated a saw mill. His son, Nelson took over operation of the farm at Frederickton. Shortly before his death, Charles together with his son, Pomroy, established the Charles Murray Electric Light Company which supplied power to Breadalbane for many years."
Charles' great granddaughter, Printha Mansfield, recalls being told that several of the Murray boys often supplemented their income by cutting virgin timber on PEI.
