Russell Colbert Funeral Services for Russell L. Colbert, 88, of Aledo, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hamlet-Perryton Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery with military honors by Aledo VFW Post 1571. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Speer Funeral Home, 2502 SE 3rd St., Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Hamlet-Perryton Presbyterian Church. Russell died on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Aledo Health and Rehabilitation Center. Russell was born March 31, 1916, in Millersburg Township, Mercer County, Ill., to Clifford and Bertha Mumey Colbert. He married Violette B. Brown Sept. 7, 1947, in Aledo. Russell was the Road Commissioner of Perryton Township for 18 years, retiring in 1987. He also was engaged in farming. Russell was a World War II Army Veteran. Russell was a talented woodworker, making many pieces of beautiful furniture. He also enjoyed gardening. He enjoyed spending time with family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Russell is survived by his wife, Violette; son, Robert L. Colbert and his wife, Mary, Millersburg; daughter, Carol A. Guthrie, Aledo; four grandchildren, Samantha Chapman, Kimberly Young, Ryan L. Colbert and Tracy Kajdacsi; seven great-grandchildren, Codey and Blaine Chapman, Oakley A. Young, Brittney and Amber Kajdacsi and Quincy and Sadie Marie Young; sister-in-law, Myra Brown, Aledo; two nieces; and several great-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Charles Guthrie; and grandson-in-law, Steven Young

Mrs. Brown was born in Ohio County March 29, 1917, a daughter of the late William L. and Anna Stum Schultz. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Funeral was Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home by the Rev. Norman Witthuhn. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Linda McGhee of Knoxville; one brother, Conrad Schultz of Hartford; one sister, Mrs. Lettya Smith of Louisville and three grandchildren." - Russellville Democrat

NMAN, SC-- Mr. Alvin L. Bruce, 87, of 1040 Holly Springs Road, Inman passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Magnolia Manor of Spartan burg after an extended illness.
Mr. Bruce was born in Holly Springs on December 14, 1919, and was the son of the late Valley P. and Betty (Tinsley) Bruce and was the widower of Mabel (Ravan) Bruce. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and a retired peach farmer.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Bruce and wife Susan of Inman and Jeff Bruce and wife Debbie of Travelers Rest, SC; one sister-in-law, Ruby Henderson of Inman; two brothers-in-law, Ray Ravan of Inman and Boyce Ravan of Spartanburg, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2007 at Seawright Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Clark and Rev. Henry Stanford officiating. The family is at the home will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349

The Rock island Argus Friday - Jan. 30, 2004 Frances Brunner, 92, formerly of Coal Valley and Moline, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 at her home in Lake Montezuma, Ariz.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Trimble funeral Home, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ken Fuller will officiate. Burial will be in national Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be given to a favorite charity.
The former Frances Sackville was born Dec. 13, 1911, in Rock Island County, Ill., daughter of Robert and mary Studer Sackville. She married Herbert Brunner in January 1965. He preceded her in death July 3, 1983.
Frances was a graduate of Moline High School and Augustana College, Rock island, 1933. She was chief accountant for the Ventura, Calif., High School and Jurior College School District. Memberships include Kappa Tau sorority, Alpha Xi Delta sorority, Civic Club of Lake Montezuma, Camp Verde Historical Society, ladies Elk Club of Sedona, Ariz. She also was a board emember and reserch chairperson of Montequma Vested Rights.
Survivors include a stepson, Herbert W. Brunner, Phoenix, Ariz; cousins, marjorie A. and Richard Shunick, Scottsdale, Ariz., Verlea Reed, Lake Montezuma, Ariz. and Bob and Dorothy Jones, Wabasha, Minn. She was preceded in death by stepdaughters, Gayleen and Sheila
