Whiteman, William P. November 23, 2006 William P. Whiteman 91, a lifelong resident of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Avon Health and Rehab. He was born January 27, 1915 in Anderson and was the son of the late William Robert and Mary Alma (Carmichael) Whiteman. William was a member of the US Army during World War II. He later attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary and became an ordained minister. Once he and Margaret moved to Greenfield he went to work for the US Postal Service from which he retired in 1978. William was an active member and elder of the Wilkinson Church of Christ. He enjoyed to travel and was active in Rock Hound clubs. Survivors include; two sons, David (Marla) Whiteman of Kansas City, Mo and Jonathan (Nancy) Whiteman of Danville, IN; six grandchildren, Rachel Whiteman, Chad (Anita) Whiteman, Brian (Sarah) Whiteman, Andrew Whiteman, Temple (Brad) Parish, and Gretchen Smith; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Scott; many friends and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Whiteman, February 2005, a brother, Bob Whiteman, two sisters, Lois and Mary Ester. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Condo & Son Funeral Home, Wilkinson with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Military Graveside service conducted by the Knightstown American Legion will follow at McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson. Whiteman, Margaret E. February 25, 2005 Margaret E. Whiteman Age 92, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield. She was born July 13, 1912 in Hazen, AR and is the daughter of the late Albert and Hattie (Wilkins) Youngblood. She was a registered nurse for 43 years, and graduated from Christian Hospital of Nursing School in St. Louis, MO, and had also graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1940. She served as Director of Nursing at Hancock Memorial Hospital in the early 1960s. She was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ for over 50 years. After retiring she was involved in the Rock Hound Club and enjoyed quilting, painting, needle crafting and many other crafting projects. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Whiteman of Greenfield; 2 sons, David (wife, Marla) Whiteman of Kansas City, MO, Jonathan (wife, Nancy) Whiteman of Danville, IN; 4 grandchildren, Rachel, Chad, Brian and Andy Whiteman; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dale Youngblood of Lansing, IL and Robert Youngblood of Cheyenne, WY; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Youngblood and a sister, Elva Gilbert. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 26 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home, Wilkinson.
