Funeral services for John were held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 25, 1964 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Rev. George Riddle officiated. Burial was in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was survived by his daughters, Ann Buckelew, Dolly B. Wood, Colesta Malcom. sons, Clarence and Fred Blackmon, brothers, Ben and Lewis Blackmon, sisters, Susie Whitt, Met Washburn and Renna Jones, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service were Ed Stancil, Bill Clark, O.V. Wood, Jr., Johnny Headrick, Harvey Reeves, Bill Burnett, Louie Washburn, Marcus Jones.

Northwest Arkansas Morning News, Friday, June 7, 1985 Bonita Brice Nellie Bonita Brice, 77,of Rogers died Wednesday jun 5, at St. Mary-Rogers Memorial Hospital. She was born June 12, 1907, in Melvern, Kansas., to Clyde and Leona Cockriel Blackwell.
She came to the Rogers area in 1971 from Cassville, Missouri where she farmed for many years with hr husband, Gilbert, who preceded her in death. She was a regular visitor in area nursing homes for many years and was a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by four sisters, Rowena Jones, Zula Nicholas, Bess Gallagher and Billie Jean Brink, all of Rogers: and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Burns funeral chapel in Rogers with the Rev. Ralph Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Goad Springs Cemetery under the direction of Burns funeral Home of Rogers.

Obituary
Russell Wilbur Blackwell, the ten months old baby of Clyde and Leona Blackwell, died at Argentine, Nov 9, after a short illness of intestinal trouble.
The remains were brought to this city for interment. Funeral services by Rev. B. B. Silverthorne were held at the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon. His loss is mourned by parents, one brother, two sisters and numerous other relatives, to all of whom is extended the sympathy of the entire community.

She was born in Kansas City, Kan., to the late Clyde Allen Blackwell and Harriet Leona Cockrell.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Amarillo, Texas. In 1932, she moved to Lowell and that same year graduated from Rogers High School. She had many jobs throughout her lifetime. The most rewarding work followed when she had a day-care home for children. She took them at age 6 weeks. Many she kept through their first school years. The total number of her "babies" was 40 plus. Thirty-five years later she continued to hear from the mothers of the babies.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, Russell Blackwell and Dale Lamar Blackwell, her stepmother, Bessie Blackwell, one son Clyde Alan Davis, three sisters, Bonita Brice, Mary Cline Gundell and Rowena Jones.
Zula Mae is best known as a Christian who attended Temple Baptist Church in Rogers. Her many friends will remember her for her hard work and gifts of afghans, the letters she had written to the homebound people, as well as many plain calls to church members. She even visited with people she had never seen before. She was a "Meals on Wheels" patron.
She was 89 when she passed away "at a local nursing home". She was from Rogers, Ar at the time of her death.

Details of 12/22/67 when mom died: ill on table following day. -She had discovered that Dad was having an affair when she looked into the checkbook to find $ for Christmas gifts for us kids. She found a strange checkbook entry for his girlfriend's Christmas gift. -She called her mom, Olive, crying and asking what to do. -She called Dad at work (this part of the story Dad admits to but he only said, "She was upset.") -Dad never called the police. The neighbors called. Mom was alive when the ambulance arrived at the house but dead on arrival at Wooster Hospital.
