Ada S. Westmoreland Marion - Mrs. Ada Simmons Westmoreland passed away Friday, March 16, 2007, at Highland Farms Retirement Community, where she was a resident for over eight years. She was born Aug. 26, 1915, to the late Will A. Simmons and Elizabeth Robinson Simmons. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and was retired from the McDowell County school system following 38 years of service. Her husband, Lewen Westmoreland, and daughter, Tressie Thomas, preceded her in death. Surviving are her three children, Donald Westmoreland and his wife, Linda, of Hendersonville, Roemelda Henderson Dahlin and her husband, Herb, of Burnsville, and Pat Langley and her husband, Robert, of St. Augustine, Fla.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Westmoreland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
