DEATH: NOVELLA HAWS BERTRAM PERRY Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Novella Haws Bertram Perry, 84, passed away October 5, 1992.
She was born March 31, 1908 in Elwood, Utah, a daughter of John Kimball Haws and Alice Wight Haws. She married Murn Bertram Jan. 21, 1931; later divorced. She married Ivan Perry December 1, 1951; solemnized Dec. 1, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Novella worked at Fort Douglas during World War II and Hill Field after the war, living in Clearfield and later moving to Salt Lake City. She was active in the Lions Club, serving as a past president. She loved to fish and was an avid bowler. She loved to be with her family and was loved dearly. She will be greatly missed.She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Peterson (Joe) of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren, Jana Hardy (Glen); Craig Clayson; Cory Clayson; Brian Bertram (Jena); Linda Young (Craig); nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jay Haws; sisters, Mona Haacke, and Verda Haws. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan and a son, Wallace T. Bertram.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 9, 1992, 12 noon, at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Thursday evening October 8, 1992, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Friday.
Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

The 1860 Barry Co. Census (pg. 935) shows his name as Lablin. Jerry Betterton has him d. 04 Aug 1911 in Monet, Barry Co., MO. His tombstone is marked "Co. M. 8 S.M. Cav." and name as L. L. Leeland L. Betterton enlisted in the Missouri Cavalry March 24, 1862 and was mustered out April 18, 1865. He enrolled as a Private in Company H, 14th Missouri State Militia Cavalry at Springfield, Missouri supplying his own horse and equipment. On August 5, 1864 his horse was shot out from under him in action near Cowskin River, Missouri. Leeland later received a military pension. Was a Farmer
