Moses Mishler was born Feb. 18, 1844, at Janesville, OH, and died very sud denly of heart failure, at his home west of Horton, on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1923, at 10 o'clock, aged 78 years and 11 months.
At the age of seven years he came with his parents to Denver, IA, and that was his home until he moved to Horton in 1886.
On June 14, 1886, he was married to Miss Mary Tippey. To this union were born fifteen children. Surviving are his aged wife, three sons, Herbert and Alpheus, Horton; Harmon, St. Croiz Falls, WI; eight daughters, Mrs. Grant Fassett, Waterloo, IA; Mrs. W. A. Burch, Owensville, MO; Mrs. C. N. Burch, Centuria, WI; Mrs. J. G. Nichols, Sumer, IA; Mrs. M. M. Terry; Mrs. H. D. Remley, Mrs. John Youmans and Mrs. W. L. Remley of this place; also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charles Wesley Mitchell, 80, of Rogers, died Saturday. He was born April 3,
1899 in Winnfield, LA.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Mitchell of Hope and Eugene Mitchell of
Ashland, Ore.; four daughters, Dera Keen of Rogers, Ruth Blowers of Mt.
Hagen, Papua New Guinea, Sara Gerig of Albany, Ore., and Lyneva Grauberger
of Longmont, Colo.; five sisters, Octavia Morris of Austin, Texas, Bessie
Crowson of Twin Falls, Idaho, Ina Shreve of Key West, Fla., and Nina Mae
Simmons and Lena Reiff, both of Dry Prong, La.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in
Winnfield, La. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers Sunday, Aug. 5,
from noon to 9 p.m.

C.W. expressed the thought to his daughter Dera Lee Mitchell Keen that he
felt the cause of death of several of his siblings at such an early age was
due to living so close to the Red River and their contracting yellow fever
or something similar.

EVELYN MITCHELL DIED SATURDAY; FUNERAL TUESDAY Mrs. L. Evelyn Mitchell, of 472 So. Lashley Lane, died at home at 11 a.m., Saturday. She lived with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Keen.
Mrs. Mitchell was born to Albert and Sula Westmoreland at Prescott, Ark., on July 23, 1907, and lived there until 1928. She married C. W. Mitchell in Houston, Tex., on Nov. 29, 1929.
She is survived by six children: Dera (Mrs. Joe) Keen, of Boulder; Lyneva (Mrs. Ed Grauberger), of Greeley; Sara (Mrs. Norman) Gerig, of Albany, Ore.; Ruth (Mrs. Bruce) Blowers, of Kudjip, New Guinea; Eugene Mitchell, of Ashland, Ore.; and Charles Mitchell, of Fort Scott, Kan.
There are 21 grandchildren.
Other survivors include her mother, Sula (Mrs. A.J.) Westmoreland, of Houston; a sister, Lena (Mrs. R.C.)Lind, of Austin; and three brothers, H.T.
Westmoreland and C.O. Westmoreland, both of Houston, and B.B. Westmoreland, of Dallas.
Visiting hours for friends will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Howe Mortuary in Boulder. Burial will be 1:30 Tuesday, at the Rosewood Memorial Park in Houston, with funeral arrangements being made by the Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Boulevard, Houston.

Toccoa, Stephens Co, GA. - Marion Lee Mize, 65, of 395 Mize Drive died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Stephens County, where he lived all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a retired house contractor and of the Christian faith. Surviving are mother, Lois Westmoreland Mize of Toccoa; daughter, Tracey Snyder of Conyers; sons, Stanley Mize and Mike Mize, both of Gainesville and Terry Mize of Panama City, Fla.; brother, Curtis Mize of Valdosta; sister, Carol Craven of Toccoa; and nine grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Omer Lee Mize and was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Gene Mize.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home by the Revs. Don Pruitt and Danny Newbern; burial will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Family members will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
