Mooresville relatives have received word of the death of Mrs. C. C. Ludlow which occurred Monday in California. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Ludlow left the Mooresville community about thirty years ago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in California. Burial was there

Obit San Luis Telegram Tribune June 29, 1987 Dorothea Lucille Chesterson, 78 of Morro Bay died Saturday, June 27, 1987, in a Morro Bay Hospital Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday in the Benedict-Rettey Chapel in Morro Bay. Burial will follow at the Cayucos Morro Bay cemetery. Mrs. Chesterson was born Sept. 9, 1908, in Hall, Ind. She had been a self-employed pianist for 10 years. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was a former resident of Hemet, where she lived for 20 years Mrs. Chesterson is survived by her daughter, Carmelita Tyler of Morrow Bay and one grandchild. Visitation was to be from 7 to 8 pm today, and 8 to 10 am Tuesday at the Benedict Rettley Funeral Home

An article written by Mrs. Edna Moore upon the death of her brother Joh n. , Next in our family to be called to the great beyond, was John Joseph, 1st son of our father and mother, Joseph Milton and Emma Belle Haldeman Pierce. He died of a brain tumor at Hines Hospital. He had entered Dwight Hospital on July 20, and passed away Sept 3, 1949. I was privileged to be with him the last 2 weeks and feed him his last meal. His wife, or partner as he loved to call her was a faithful attendant at his bedside, and his greatest comfort and support the last few years of his life. Pierce, 52, of 637 Seventeenth Street, Rock Island, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Wheelan funeral home. Mr. Pierce died Friday in Hines Veterans hospital, Hines, IL He had been ill for two months. A resident of Rock Island 25 years, he came here from Aledo. He was engaged in the construction business. Cleo C. Thomas, 78, of Milton died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with David Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family present from 7-8 p.m.

Mr. Thomas was born April 28, 1926, near Mount Sterling, the son of Herbert and Edna Alexander Thomas. Each of his marriages to Eileen Roby, Laura Lunsford and Nancy Phillips ended in divorce. He married Maxine Osing Davidson Aug. 21, 1975, in Memphis, Mo.
He farmed in the Milton area and was employed as a heavy equipment operator by McConnell Construction Co.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dean Thomas and wife Debbie of Laurel Hill, Fla., and Steven Thomas and wife Brenda of Milton; two daughters, Nancy Jean Schweiger of Green Valley, Ariz., and Teresa Toops and husband David of Terrell, Texas; one stepdaughter, Joyce Carey and husband Leroy of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Thomas of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
