Vernon Hill, Virginia - Thomas Carr Myers, 85, of 2000 Ridgeway Road, Vernon Hill, died at his home on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. Born July 22, 1921, in Caswell County, he was the son of George H. Myers and Minnie Chandler Myers. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school superintendent. He was married to Juanita Adams Myers.

In addition to his wife, of the home, he is survived by two sons, Hartwell Myers of Chatham and Carr Myers of Nathalie; three daughters, Rosa M. Whitmore of Fayetteville, N.C., Thelma M. Navarro of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and Sue M. Gregory of Java, Va.; one sister, Ellen M. Turner of Reidsville; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Julian Myers and Monroe Myers; and three sisters, Virginia Thompson, Thelma Hicks, and Mildred Swann.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Townes Funeral Home; at other times they will be at the residence, 2000 Ridgeway Road. Townes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Juanita Adams Myers, age 83 of 2000 Ridgeway Road, Vernon Hill, VA died on Monday, February 2, 2009 at her residence after a decline in health.
Mrs. Myers was born in Danville on September 21, 1925, a daughter of the late Willie Gidd Adams and Rosa Queen Edwards Adams.
Mrs. Myers was a member of County Line Baptist Church and was married to the late Thomas Carr Myers who died July 26, 2006. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Leo Adams, Conroy Adams and Rudolph Adams.
Mrs. Myers worked at Tultex for many years and later became a homemaker.
She is survived by her children; Hartwell Myers and his wife Linda of Chatham, Carr Myers and his wife Sharon of Nathalie, VA, Rosa M. Whitmore of Fayetteville, NC, Thelma M. Navarro and her husband Greg of Mamaroneck, NY and Sue M. Gregory and her husband Robert of Java, VA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M from Townes Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

James Odis Westmoreland, 67, of Skyline Drive, Toccoa, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at his home.

He was born Dec. 14, 1935 in Stephens County where he lived most of his life. Prior to retirement, he was human resource manager with Shaw Industries. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Toccoa and served in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 19, from the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary. Interment followed at Roselane Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Bocian officiating at the graveside.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Adams Westmoreland of the home; his mother, Eloise Hitt Westmoreland of Madison; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Brent Ware of Toccoa and Leslie and Kim Broome of Acworth; a sister, Betty Jean Sisk of Madison; grandsons, Zach Ware and Austin Ware of Toccoa; granddaughters, Amber Broome and Abby Broome of Acworth; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Steele, Charles Steele, Chad Moss, Dennis Moss, Allen Crowley, Mike Crisp, and Ryan Nicholson.
