Florence Warta Jones Florence Warta Jones, 92, died Nov. 24, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson.

She was born March 8, 1911, in rural Cunning-ham, the daughter of Olive L. Park. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a retired licensed practical nurse and a homemaker.

On Feb. 7, 1929, she married Emil F. Warta. He died March 19, 1965. On April 14, 1979, she married Charles A. Jones at Turon. He died April 28, 2002.

Survivors include: a son, Jim Warta and wife Patricia, Porum, Okla.; a daughter, Frances Lemen, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Warta; a daughter, Marie Tennant; and a sister, Mabel Arthur.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Langdon Cemetery, Langdon, with Pastor Loren Mai presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson, in care of the funeral home.

General Notes: Husband -

Ernie was also know as William Pierce. A name he used to write letter s. He told people he was an FBI agent. He was hit in the head with a brick by a husband while working for a doctor delivering drugs and they say he was never the same again. Earnie was dishonorably discharged from the Army, but died in the Dayton VA hospital in OH. On visits he acted odd, swatting fly that were not there. He stayed in a trailer on (sister Mildred's husband) Robert Simpson's farm in Otwell for a short time, only to flee when a dog had puppies. He put them in the stove and tried to burn them before disappearing again.

Ethel Jones Swink, Woodruff Ethel Hughes Jones Swink, 87, of 625 N. Main St., Woodruff, died Sept. 6, 1999, in B.J. Workman Hospital in Woodruff. A native of Fountain Inn, she was the wife of the late William Marion Swink, and daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Lorena Ethel Hughes Jones. She was a member of Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church of Woodruff. She received a B.A. degree from Furman University and her Masters degree from Duke University. She was affiliated with her late husband's law firm. Survivors include one brother, Abner Jones of Easley; one sister, Mae Carson of Atlanta; a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Nancie Givens and Elizabeth Kyzer; and three brother, Paul Jones, Conway Jones, and Arthur Jones. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 8, 1999, in Bethel Cemetery in Woodruff conducted by the Rev. Kitty Holtzclaw and Dr. L.D. Jordan.
