General Notes: Husband -

It seems Lemuel was estranged from his own family and his marriage to Lucille was extremely tumultuous. Lucille abandoned the children, leaving them to fend for themsleves. Bobby was deranged, dangerous, and criminal. My mother divorced him while he was in prison. IN 1974 someone hired a hitman and took him out. I believe God intervened in that matter. Benjamin Vernon High Jr., 70, of West Long Branch, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, Pa. He was born at Fort Monmouth and lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch. He worked at Motion Systems, Eatontown for 30 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin High Sr. and Lillian Erdsley High. Surviving is his sister, Barbara Hafemann of Nashua, N.H.; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements are by the Fiore Funeral Home, West Long Branch. Condolences may be emailed to fiorefh@aol.com and will be received by the family
