Fred Lee received his education in Mercer county. After graduating in 1937 from Seaton High School, Seaton, Ill he moved to Los Angeles, Ca where he continued his education in engineering. He worked for the Douglas Aircraft Company prior to enlisting in the US Marines. He served in the 1^st Marine Air Wing during WW II. After he was discharged he returned to the engineering department of Douglas for 1 year. He spent the next 6 years as an engineer for Marman Product Corporation. He latter joined the McCulloch Corporation as a Senior Design Engineer where he served for 17 years before retiring in 1971 to Fallbrook, Ca.

EDWARD G. BAGWELL

WHITESBORO – Graveside services for Edward G. Bagwell, 82, are set for noon Tuesday at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Texas, with Rev. Alan Mattingly and Tom Bilderback officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home at 401 Hwy 377 N. in Whitesboro.

Visitation will from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at the funeral home.

Mr. Bagwell died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Edward was born on Dec. 8, 1924, to John Benson and Leona Mae (Westmoreland) Bagwell in Gorman, Texas. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He married Verna Mae Patterson. Edward was of the Baptist faith, he was retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company, he was an avid history buff and he was a certified hamm radio operator.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Charles Tucker of Whitesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Susan Bagwell of San Marcos; and two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Bagwell; parents, John and Leona Bagwell; and wife, Verna Bagwell.

Sheri Lee Bailey, 66, of Carthage, died Wednesday (Dec. 14, 2005) at her home.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Southern Pines United Meth-odist Church with the Rev. Vernon Tyson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday (today) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Southern Pines United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bailey was born June 27, 1939, in Weston, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Ruby Jefferies Moody. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buchannon, W.Va., with a bachelor?s degree in nursing in 1970. She received a bachelor?s degree in elementary education and early childhood education from Davis and Elkins College, Elkins, W.Va., in 1982.
Mrs. Bailey, along with her late husband, Aubrey, worked tirelessly in the mental health field for much of her life. She retired as the nursing supervisor of Samarkand Manor, State of N.C. Training School System.
Mrs. Bailey was last working as a registered nurse at FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Moore Regional Hospital?s Psychiatric Unit until March. She was an active member of the Southern Pines United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her only child, Christopher M. Bailey and his wife, Kimberly, of West End; and her two grandchildren, Alexandra and Christopher Bailey II.

Luther "Jarrett" Hicks, 60, of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, N.C.

He was born in Oka, the son of the late Iras Basil and Cora Francis Rinehart Hicks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Milo Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Bernice Ruth Bailey Hicks; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia "Jenny" and Jose "Tony" Richards of Beech Road; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Patricia Vaughan Hicks of Statesville; four grand-children, Mathiew, Eva and Beth Richards and Eric Hicks; five brothers, his twin Gene Hicks of Crown City, Ohio, and Carroll "Buck" Hicks, Edward Hicks, Forrest Hicks and Donnie Hicks, all of Chloe; and five sisters, Francis Waldron of Parkersburg, Gwen Simmons of Beech Road, Sue Sampson of Mineral Wells, Patricia Siers of Chloe and Margaret Lantz of Mt. Clair.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Parsons.

Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial was in Bailey Cemetery.
