General Notes: Husband -

E. B. Tippy, whose residence in Fulton Co dates from 1875, is accounted o ne of the practicle and progressive agriculturists, and belongs to that class of citizens who have gained for Indiana marked prestige amoung the agricultural states of the union. He was born in Franklin Co, Ohio, Jan 20, 1845. The family is of Scotch orgin, and the father of our subject, Levi Tippy, was born near Johnstown, Ohio. He married Louise A. Denune, daughter of John Denune, who was born in Paris, France, and came to America with Gen. LafFayette, serving as a drummer boy with the French troops in the Colonial army. He married a Miss Barrel, a relative of Gen. Grant's family. Levi Tippy died of Cholera in Louisville, Jefferson Co, KY., in 1852, at the age of thirty-five. His children were as follows: George, who is living near Colombus, Ohio; E.B.; and Lewis,deceased. Our subject was left an orphan at the age of six years, and was reared by a Mr Brown in Delware Co, Ohio, until nineteen years of age. He then bought his time, and removed to Livingston Co, MO, but returned after eight months and learned the carpenter's trade in Deleware Co, under S. Gorsuch. He afterward married and then removed to Boone Co, MO, but in a short time again returned to Deleware Co, where he lived for four years. At the expiration of that period he began farming, which he continued in Ohio until coming to Indiana in 1875. His first land was purchased with money that he had earned at school teaching. He here bought forty acres of land just east of Bloomingburg, which he operated for four years, when he sold and purchased a farm adjoining the village, comprising 115 acres. He is progressive in his methods and at the same time extremely practical in his work, so that he won a comfortable competence. Mr Tippy was married Jan. 20, 1867 to Emma Fix, daughter of David Fix, and their home was blessed with six children - Della, wife of Jesse Emmons; Frank, a popular young man who possesses much mechanical genius; Levi, who married Ella Ross and resides in New Castle township; Ida, a teacher; Eva and Linnie. Mr. Tippy is one of the leaders of the democracy in his township, andis now serving as trustee, having entered upon the duties of the office on Aug. 5, 1895. His geniune worth has won him the high esteem of all, and he well deserves recognition in this volume

Pamela Kay Flanagan Knuckles
MONTCALM ? Pamela Kay Flanagan Knuckles, 49, of P.O. Box 314, Montcalm, WV 24737, went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening (Oct. 2, 2007) at Princeton Community Hospital after a long illness.
Born March 9, 1958 in Parkersburg, she was the daughter of the late Creed Flanagan and Marie Carter Flanagan. She attended school in Ritchie County, was affiliated with the Church of God faith, was a homemaker, and had resided in Montcalm for the past 10 years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Harry and Hazel Flanagan, and maternal grandparents, Richard and Ruth Carter.
Left to cherish her memories: Her husband, Mack Knuckles of the home; three sons, Michael Knuckles and wife Nicole of Princeton, Jason Knuckles of Bluewell, David Knuckles of Bluewell; stepmother, Carol Flanagan of St. Mary?s; one sister, Tammy Poling and husband Steve of St. Mary?s; three brothers, Rick Flanagan and wife Sandy of Davisville, Gary Flanagan and wife Jill of Williamstown, Roger Flanagan of Harrisville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday (Oct. 5, 2007) at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, with the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell.

Nora Marr was born June 6, 1883 in Ainsworth, the daughter of Jesse and Etta Wood Marr. She was reared in the Ainsworth and Washington communities. She attended Immaculate Conception in Davenport, Drake University in Des Moines and the Chicago Conservatory of Music. She was married in Chicago Aug. 5, 1916, to Charles B. Dryden, 85-year old Ainsworth resident, died Tuesday evening, January 27, 1959, in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. He had not been well for several months. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Eastland in charge. Burial will be in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Mr. Dryden was born Nov. 30, 1873 in Copenhagen, NY, the son of John D. and Kate Bacon Dryden. He was educated in Copenhagen, and attended Clinton Liberal Institute at Ft. Plain, NY He married in January of 1912 to Mary Louise Clark who died in 1915. On Aug. 5, 1916, he was married to Nora Dell Marr. She died March 30, 1953. As a young man, Mr. Dryden was associated with Buttrick Publishing Co, in New York. Later he headed the western branch of that firm. He also served for a time with Simplicity Patterns and in the advertising field. Survivors include his daughter Mrs. Jessie Wood of Ainsworth; one son, John B. General Notes: Husband -

Broda C. Flener was born in IN on September 7, 1926. His parents were Henry Lawrence and Nevada (Evans) Flener. Broda was delivered by a doctor by the name of Daniel Boone... In about 1940 in Jefferson County, Ohio he married Audrey Rosanna Palmer. In 1966 Broda and Audrey lived in Pleasant Lake, Michigan. They were divorced in 1975. He and his sister-in law by marriage, Donna Kimball Palmer had an affair and they divorced their respective spouses and married each other. On October 6, 1999 in Fort Myers, Florida, Broda passed away. Broda died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot. Rick Flener claims that Broda was living in Jefferson County, Ohio when he died.
