Paul W. Everhart

MIDWAY | Paul Wilburne Everhart, 86, of Clodfelter Road, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Britthaven of Thomasville.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Midway United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. David P. Calhoun. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Everhart was born in Davidson County on Dec. 2, 1917, to Numa C. Everhart and Minnie Livengood Everhart. He retired from Hanes Hosiery and, at his church, he served on several church committees and taught Sunday school for 38 years. Mr. Everhart helped build the Midway Fire and Rescue, where he was a charter member. He volunteered for the prison ministry and was a Yolk Fellow. He was an avid fisherman and also played basketball at Midway High School. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clandon Everhart and Ray Everhart, and four sisters, Kate Doty, Ester Bates, Lucille Hege and Margie Sidden.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Kathleen Hine Everhart of the home; one son, Winfred Everhart and his wife, Brenda, of King; two daughters, Carol Warden and her husband, Larry, of Midway and Julia Ludwick and her husband, Ed, of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren, Teresa Boles and her husband, Richard, Sharon Sink and her husband, Richard, Rodney Everhart and his wife, Shirley, Tammy Everhart, Daniel Warden and David Warden; two great-grandchildren, Darrell Boles and his wife, Renee, and Laura Boles; and two sisters, Edna Hege of Lexington and Geneva Clodfelter and her husband, Donald, of Thomasville.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, and other times at the home.

BETHANY, OKLA. - Gilberetta Westmoreland, 67, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 6, 2004.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Interment in Bethany Cemetery.
Mrs. Westmoreland was born June 27, 1936, in Drumright, Okla. She was employed as an administrative assistant in several churches and medical offices in Oklahoma and Texas. She was a faithful member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Myra Charlotte Montgomery Everitt.

A George Waters and Levi Lay are listed as a witnesses of the marria ge of James A. Waters and Mary Ida Frizzell on Oct. 23, 1879. James was George's brother and Levi was married to his sister Rhoda.

George appears to have had trouble remembering how old he was. He was listed as age 2 in 1850, age 11 in 1860 and age 32 in 1880 in the Pope Co IL census records. He listed his age as 25 in January of 1876 when he got his marriage license to marry Martha Harper. Later on in 1900 in Grayson Co TX which has the same family members so I'm pretty sure this is the same family, he lists his age as 41 and his birth month as Oct. 1858. Since the ages are fairly consistent on the early records I opted to use 1848 as the year of birth and used October from the 1900 census since it is unlikely that he would change the month of birth. I also figured that the age on the marriage record might have been given by Levi Lay (his brother in law).

Bonnie Lee Eyre of Tillamook, died Sept. 29, 2005, at the age of 89.

Bonnie was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Malvern, Ark., to Larkin David and Bonnie Lee (McCrary) Smith. She graduated from Central High School in Malvern, Ark., in 1932.

She met and married her husband, Hartley G. Eyre in Benton, Ark., on Dec. 16, 1933. They lived in Florence from 1979-1998, prior to moving to Tillamook in 1998.

Bonnie worked as a retail clerk for Sears. She loved to sew and crochet, traveling with her husband and was cooking. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Tillamook and the Good Sam Club.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband June 26, 1994.

She was survived by her sons and daughters-in-law,Jim and Irene Eyre of Tillamook and Karl and Carol Eyre of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers, Clayton Smith of Napa, Calif., and Jabez Smith of Friendship, Ark., sister; Emily Canaster of Loveland, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was in Eugene Oct. 8, 2005, in care of West Lawn Memorial, with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Karma Jean Facer Williams of Ogden, Utah, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2004, in Ogden.
Karma was born in Provo, Utah, on April 28, 1940, to William Holbrook Facer and Lyle Holdaway Facer. She grew up in So. California where she graduated from high school. After serving an LDS Mission in Leeds, England, Karma settled in the Salt Lake area. In time she met her husband there and eventually re-located to Ogden. Karma's husband, Jordan, was a special blessing in her life. Their 14 years together were wonderfully supportive and devoted.
Karma's later life was a struggle as her health declined, but through it all she showed determination and humor. She was a dear and loving soul and will be missed.
Karma was preceded in death by her father, William Facer, and leaves behind her husband, Jordan, mother, Lyle Facer, and sisters, Marilyn Sheard, Kathleen Spencer and Loreen Danby. She will be remembered in a funeral service at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North in Orem on Friday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be Provo City Cemetery. Lyle Holdaway Facer

Our mother, Lyle Holdaway Facer, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2006 at age 89. She died as she lived, with serenity and dignity, and we will grieve over her loss to us here, but she will rejoice with her husband and daughter (Karma Jean) and other family in eternal life.

Lyle was born December 18, 1916 in Vineyard, Utah. Her parents were Walter Roland and Edna Knudsen Holdaway. Lyle was born at home on her parents farm a few miles from town. She was very welcome as the first girl after four boys, (five boys in all). Lyle's future husband always said that she was the apple of her father's eye.

Lyle was at BYU and within a year of graduating when she met William Holbrook Facer. They were introduced by a mutual faculty friend and married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple after Lyle's graduation. They then joined Bill's parents on their farm in Cove, Oregon. But after the birth of their first two daughters, with work short everywhere, Bill and Lyle moved to southern California, where Bill enrolled in a vocational school for machinists.

While in southern California, two more daughters were born. Lyle was a stay-at-home mom during this time, working in M.I.A., local Relief Society, and later as President of the Stake Relief Society. Her enduring and most loved position, however, was as Ward Organist, a calling she filled to the pride of her family. She not only played notes, she made music. All her daughters benefited from her musical inspiration, as well as from lessons in sewing and other hand crafts. Lyle made most of her own clothes and many outfits for her daughters in those days.

When the girls were out of the house, Lyle took a job as a secretary in the County Education Office. She discovered how well she liked doing this type of work and became a valued team member. When she and Bill retired, they moved to Provo to be closer to both their extended families. They did a lot of RV camping, going up into Canada and throughout the western states. Lyle and Bill both worked to develop the RV park in Washington City where they lived for a while, and are known as "founders" there.

Bill used to say that Lyle was "peppy". She was ready to join in his adventures and could pack up and leave without a lot of to-do. They worked together as a team in many of Bill's projects and was always a skillful helper when the time called for one. All through her life she has been loving, kind, and understanding, her heart always in the right place.

Lyle is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Sheard (Charles), Kathy Spencer, and Loreen Danby (Frank), seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The viewing will be held at Walker-Sanderson Funeral Home in Orem, Utah between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 10th. Services will be at the Grandview 6th Ward, 1850 W. 1600 N., Provo, starting at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the 11th.

Ettar E. Fadler

Services for Mrs. Ettar E. Fadler will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 in Hixson Brothers Chapel, Marksville, with the Rev. David Trimbur officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Mausoleum, Effie, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Marksville.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 and from 8 a.m. until service time on Friday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Fadler, age 85, of Marksville, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 in her residence.

She was a native of Missouri, a resident of Marksville, a member of Richey Baptist Church, a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid horsewoman and very active outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Fadler; and a son, Michael Fadler.

Survivors include her son, Danny Fadler of Marksville; daughters, Cathy Hodnett of New Orleans and Judy Fisher of Tideon, Mo.; one sister, Ruby Venable of Kennett, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren

Carlton Roberds, 89, of Waldron died Wednesday, February 6, 2002 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from the United States Forest Service, former Mayor and City Councilman of Waldron and attended the Mount Moriah Church. Funeral services were held at 2PM Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial following at Grenade Cemetery in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas.

She is survived by one daughter, Doris Williams and husband, Jerry, of Waldron, AR; 2 grandsons, Eric ?Williams and wife, Darla of Magnolia, AR, John David Williams and wife, Deadrea of Ft. Smith, AR; five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Roberds.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Graveside Cemetery in Pencil Bluff, AR.

Audrey Roberds of Waldron(Scott County), Arkansas died Monday, May 11, 2008, in a Waldron Nursing Home. She was 95 years old. Ms. Roberds was a homemaker and attended the Mt. Moriah Community Church.
Ms. Roberds was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Carlton Roberds.
She is survived by a daughter: Doris Williams and her husband, Jerry of Waldron, Arkansas; 2 wonderful grandsons: Eric Williams and his wife, Darla of Magnolia, Arkansas and John David Williams and his wife, Deadria of Fort Smith, ARkansas; 5 precious great-grandchildren; and 2 very special great-great grandchildren.

THE HAVENSVILLE REVIEW 16 JULY 1936 FAIRBANKS - McKEE Sunday afternoon, July 12, at the Christian parsonage in Soldier, Mr. A. Basil McKee of Manhattan and Miss Rheva Mae Fairbanks of Onaga, were married by Rev. Wm. Mayfield. They were accompanied by Mr Orman Corcoran and Miss Hazel Fairbanks, sister of the bride both of Onaga. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarence Fairbanks of Onaga, and a graduate of the Onaga High School; the groom is a son of Mr and Mrs Willard McKee of Blue Rapids and a graduate of the Havensville High School. Mr and Mrs McKee will reside in Manhattan where Mr. McKee is in business.

The Onaga Herald Thursday 15 July 2004 obituary Arron "Basil" McKee, 91, of Salina, formerly of Blue Rapids, died Friday, July 9, 2004. He was born May 28, 1913, in Havensville, the son of Willard and Cressie Slater McKee. He graduated from Havensville high school in 1930. Mr. McKee worked in the grocery business all his life and was the owner of McKee's IGA in Blue Rapids from 1942 until his retirement in 1971. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1944-1945 in the Pacific and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the United Presbyterian church in Blue Rapids and an active member of Sunrise Presbyterian church in Salina. Mr. McKee was married to Rheva Mae Fairbanks on July 12, 1938. She survives of the home. Other survivors include one son, Jerry McKee of Salina; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Two brothers, Curtis and Dallas McKee and one sister, Irene Andre preceded him in death. Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m Tuesday July 13, 2004 at Sunrise Presbyterian church in Salina. A graveside service was held at 3:30 p.m. in the Fairmont cemetery at Blue Rapids. Visitation was from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary in Salina. JAMES (POSS) FAIRCHILD

James E. (Poss) Fairchild, Sr., departed this mortal life on July 1, 2006.
He lived a very fulfilling 86 years and 11 months.

Mr. Fairchild was born nea Mt. Moriah, in Nevada County, on July 30, 1919.
He was the youngest son of Nathan and Rosetta Bennett Fairchild. He ws a
graduate of Laneburg High School and was a student at Magnolia A&M when the
United States entered World War II. He joined the U.S. Army and served in
Fort Benning, Ga., and the Aleutian Islands Theatre in Alaska for four
years. After the war ended, Mr. Fairchild attended barber and beauty college
in New York City. He subsequently returned to Prescott, where he established
the Whiz Barber and Beauty Shop on Elm Street. He operated "The Whiz"
continuously for 56 years, until his health forced him to retire in October
of 2005. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion,
as well as numerous other civic and professional organizations.

Mr. Fairchild was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church. Funeral
services were held at Central on July 10. Graveside services were held in
DeAnne Cemetery.

Mr. Fairchild remained a member of the Arkansas National Guard and Reserve,
retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant after 40 years of faithful and
honorable service to his country. He was accepted into the Masonic
Brotherhood and earned his Scottish Rites in Columbus, Ga. He was a 32nd
Degree Mason and active member of the Prescott Lodge at the time of his
death. He was blessed with a Masonic funeral, led by Grady Hasley and his
brother Masons from the Prescott Lodge. He was also rendered full military
honors by the U. S. Army.

Mr. Fairchild was preceded in death by his wife, Zelia Ann Westmoreland and
one son, Douglas Bryan.

His survivors include two sons, James E. Fairchild, Jr. of Hope and Master
Sergeant Blake D. Fairchild (Lusviminda) of Chesapeake, Va.; four
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces,
nephews, and other relatives, all of whom will miss him greatly.

Poss was widely known as one of Nevada County's unofficial historians. His
knowledge of local history and genealogy was often requested, and eagerly
provided, for both friends and strangers. He cherished all of his friends in
Prescott, Nevada County and elsewhere.

Please honor Mr. Fairchild by making a contribution in his memory to the
Nevada County Chapter of the American Cancer Society at the Bank of
Prescott.
