Obituary: Loren Kay Hooper--Loren Kay, 98, died Wednesday, July 19,1995, at Davis Hospital a nd Medical Center in Layton, of causes incident to age. He was born May 4, 1897 in Mona, Utah, a son of John Thomas and Laura Rosetta Haws Kay. He married Zina Cooke on September 10, 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died March 30, 1963 in Franklin, Idaho. He married Mary Laurena Arave in Ogden. She preceded him in death. He married Mildred Child in the Ogden LDS Temple. She preceded him in death. He had lived in Mona and Tremonton, Utah and in Parma, Idaho. He lived most of his life in Sunset and in Hooper for the past four years with his son Rulon and wife Mary Lou. A special tribute to Sanford and Mary Lou and their children for their special care and help during Dad?s stay with them. He was an active member his entire life in the LDS and the time of his death was a member of the Hooper 4th Ward. He was a High Priest. He was a veteran of World War I, serving with the US Army. Mr. Kay was a farmer. He had also worked at Hill Air Force Base, Union Pacific Railroad, Kennecott Copper, and the Naval Base. Surviving are four sons, Loren O?Deen (Bessie) Kay and Harold John (Elsie B.) Kay, both of Roy; Thomas A. (Joyce) Kay, West Haven; Rulon Sandy (Mary Lou) Kay, Hooper. He was preceded in death by two sons, Grant Raymond Kay and Delbert Lee Kay. Also surviving are seven daughters. Wilda R. (Richard) Michael, Clearfield, Audrey L. (Joseph) Peterson, Roy; Lula V. (Sheridan) Wilson, Clinton; Iris G. (Gerald) Anderson, Honeyville, Utah; Linda P. (Frank) Gale, Redmond, Utah; Peggy A. (Kenneth) Johnston, Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; Sherley M. (Ray) Wallberg, Taylorsville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Zina Ruth Hunsaker. He is also survied by 83 grandchildren, 150 + great-grandchildren, and 75 + great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Carma (Carl ) Radin, Seattle, Wash; Dorothy (Nick) Chournos, Tremonton, Utah; Eunice (Cliff) Summers, Garland, Utah. He was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 4th Ward Chapel, 5000 S. 5900 W. with Bishop Ron Lynch officiating. Friends may call at the Linquist?s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the ward chapel 10 to 10:45 am. General Notes: Wife -

Washington ? Ila Archibald Merrill, 62, passed away March 6, 2005, at her home in Coral Canyon with her family around her. She was born March 19, 1942, in Logan, Utah, to Eldredge and Rhea Loosle Archibald. She married Clark L. Merrill in the Los Angeles Temple on June 15, 1963. Ila spent most of her childhood in Clarkston, Utah, but later moved to Torrance, California. After high school, she became a reservation agent for Western Airlines and worked in the travel business for most of her adult life. She moved her family to Inkom, Idaho, for the majority of their childhood. She later moved to Hemet, California, where she finished raising her family and made many friends before retiring to the St. George area. She loved to travel, be involved with her children and grandchildren and working in all aspects of her church.

She is survived by her: husband, Clark, who is currently living in Washington, Utah; children, Teresa, Brian, Kevin, and Scott; six grandchildren; mother, Rhea Archibald; and sister, Vicki Stock.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Stake Center, 446 Mangum, Washington, UT. Family and friends may call Tuesday, March 8, from 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, and Wednesday, one hour prior to services, at the Stake Center. Hileman and Miss Lucy G. Armour, all of this Co. The above was a strictly private affair, only the relatives being present. These two are more of Dakota Co's offspring and well do we feel proud of them. They will move in the Hileman house and look after the welfare of the farm, and Uncle David, the groom's father. The Eagle congradulates them on their new mission and also returns thanks for cake. Newspaper Announcement, the Argus-HAPPILY MARRIED Two More of Dakota Co's Young People Join Hands for the Journey of Life. Married-at the residence of the bride's parents, five miles southwest of Dakota City, on Wednesday June 4, 1890, Mr. Robert O. Hileman and Miss Lucy G. Armour, both of Dakota Co, Rev. Sprecher officiating at the ceremony. It is a source of pleasure for the Argus to record the above wedding. These two young people are so well and favorably known to the people of the Co that praise from this source is almost superflous. The two belong to two of the most respected families of the Co and it is a pleasure to all to see these estiminable young people joined for life in the happy bonds of matrimony. The ceremony was performed at 11o'clock A.M., after which a bounteous repast was served. The bride wore an electric blue cashmere trimmed with cream lace. The groom was dressed in the usual black. The couple left the next day for a visit to relatives at Neligh. They will return next week and at once commence housekeeping on the Hileman farm. According to what Verna Maxine Hayes, the granddaughter of Ida Jane Hileman, told me, Libby Hileman Summers, in February 1997, when Robert Ord moved out west he sold the family home to his nephew Claude Heikes, Ida Jane's son, Maxine's uncle. The David Young Hileman family home in Dakota County, Nebraska was in the family for 100 years. Claude farmed in the area. He took very good care of the home and remodeled it inside and out as needed to keep it up to date. In a letter from Cathryn Irene Hileman to Robert Russell Hileman, Dec. 27, 1955 she writes " After Grandfather's (David) death, Dad (Robert Ord Hileman) bought the old Hileman home and lived on it until he moved to the ranch and rented it later on. I believe in 1919 he sold it to his sister Ida's boy Claude Heikes, who still owns it and is keeping it up so beautifully."

Obituary: DEATH CLAIMS ROBERT O. HILEMAN, JUNE 24, 1941. Robert O. Hileman, a well known and pioneer resident of Dakota County, passed away at his home in Boise, Idaho, Tuesday, June 24, after a prolonged illness. Mr. Hileman had lived in Boise the past 21 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boise. He was born June 13, 1869, in Dakota County, and resided here until 1914. He was united in marriage to Lucy Armour June 4, 1890. Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Pearl and Cathryn Hileman of Boise. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday in the Summer Funeral Home in Boise. Dr. and Mrs. G.E. Armour of St. Ignatius, Montana, were in attendence for a week prior to Mr. Hileman's death. Obituary: HILEMAN-Robert Ord Hileman, died Tuesday at the family home on the bench near the Ada County Hospital. Mr. Hileman was born in Dakota County, Nebraska June 13, 1869. He has resided in Idaho for the last 20 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy G. Hileman; two daughters, Miss Pearl and Cathryn Hileman of Boise. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Summers Funeral Home. The Rev. B.C. Bailey will have charge of the services and burial will be in Morris Hill Cemetery.

In a letter from Cathryn to Dad (Robert Russell Hileman), dated Dec. 27, 1955 she states "Bob, I have something I 'treasure' but do wish you to have and please do likewise. After dad's death, Pearl and I were going through his deposit box and we found Grandad's (David Y.) discharge papers and pin from the war. I have a gold moroco, cane the children gave Grandad which is not so old, of course. Upon his death, they gave it to dad, (as you know he lost a leg when he was quite young.) I can remember as a kid when Dad used it on rare occasions, he was so proud of it. If you would like to have it as well as the Hileman Bible I would love to have you have them both. The Bible is one of those big affairs with D.Y. Hileman in gold letters with big brass latches on it. It is in brown leather.

Obituary: MRS. LUCY G. HILEMAN, May 1958. Mrs. Lucy G. Hileman, 91, of 2327 Ellis Avenue, a longtime resident of Boise, died Monday morning in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Hileman was born June 5, 1866, in Dakota City, Nebraska. She was married June 4, 1890, in Dakota City to Robert O. Hileman and the couple moved to Boise in 1921. Mr. Hileman died in 1941 and a daughter, Pearl, died in 1950. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Cathryn I. Hileman of Boise. Services will be conducted at the Summers Chapel, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Frank L. Rearick and the Rev. Dr. Marcus E. Lindsay will officiate. Interment will be at Morris Hill

He was on the skirmish line till he left Chattanooga with General Sherman 's division on his march to the sea. He was the fourth (Robert N., John A., James E., & Edwin E.) brother to serve his country during the Civil War and the third (Robert N., James E., & Edwin E.) Gilmore brother to serve in Company K, 102nd regiment, IL Volunteers. He had a stock farm of 320 acres and raised a good grade of cattle, sheep and hogs after he married Mary Agnes Morrow.

She helped raise her husband's family and was like a real mother to the m. After her husband's death she made her home in Aledo for a while, then in Galesburg a short time, finally in Alexis, Mercer Co, IL, where she died in January of 1920 as the result of severe burns. She was the daughter of her husband's father's half sister. Buried in Norwood Cemetery as Mary M. Gilmore
