Jerome
R.L. "Tuffy" Larsen, 79, of Jerome, passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2004, at St. Alphonsus Medical Center with family at his side.
Tuffy was born on Oct. 15, 1924, to LeRoy and Alta Mecham Larsen in Jerome. Tuffy married Beatrice Hepworth in Gooding, Idaho, at the Lincoln Inn on May 3, 1943. They had three children, Galen who preceded him in death, Michael and Nancy. He was a simple man who was a third generation farmer who took great pride in the fact he had the ability to farm with his son and grandsons, the fourth and fifth generations in his family. He dearly loved to have his family around him and being involved in the day-to-day business, especially his 3 o'clock run.
Tuffy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beatrice; his son, Michael (Ann) Larsen, and daughter, Nancy (Don) Reddick; his seven grandchildren, Donna (Kendall) Twitchell, Richard (Tracy) Larsen, Patricia (Greg) Marshall, Raymond (Rae Jean) Larsen, Rhonda Larsen, Pam (Tim) Green and Travis Reddick; six and one-half great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Troy Larsen, Robbie and Matthew Marshall, Mallory and Justin Twitchell and a new little one due this May. Tuffy is also survived by two brothers, Verdis and Denzel Larsen of Jerome, and sister, Betty Beck of Twin Falls. His infant son, Galen, his parents and a sister, Gladys Jones, preceded him in death.
Tuffy was very happy having all of his family living near him in Jerome.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Jerome LDS Stake Center on North Tiger Drive with Bishop Andy Lott conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hove-Robertson Funeral Chapel in Jerome

(from posting on GenForum by Janine Westmoreland Malone) Zadock Ford Westmoreland is my gggf. I know that he and his 2nd wife went to TX after he lost his tavern and plantation is SC due to uncollected debts. Accoring to the Robertson family history, he and his 2nd wife died of yellow fever in their log cabin somewhere near the Red River, west of the Mississippi in TX. Also, according to the history, his children and some of the nearest inhabitants had to fight the wolves away while the bodies were in the house. The children were taken to Vicksburg, MS where their uncle, John Latimer Westmoreland met them with wagons and brought them back to Greenville, SC to live with his family

Obituary: Ona Harriet Ryan

Ona Harriet Ryan, 99, of Spencer, died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at her home.

She was born November 22, 1905, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Hulbert and Hattie Dalton Hersman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William St. Clair Ryan; a son, Charles Edgar Ryan; a brother, Forrest Coy Hersman; and a sister, Ava Hersman Davis.

Mrs. Ryan was a self-employed landlady in Spencer.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Patricia Ryan Riggs of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Lesa Ryan Perez of Tampa, Fla., and David Neal Ryan of Spencer; and two great grandchildren.

Interment will be Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.

Wayne Hess

Wayne E. Hess, 81, of Port Byron, died Dec. 12, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.

Wayne was born Dec. 30, 1926, in North Dakota, to Albert and Jessie Hess. He married Bessie Pegg on Oct. 17, 1970, in Andalusia.

Wayne was a World War II Army veteran and was employed as a machinist at the former Montgomery Elevator.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Hess; sons, Steve (Peg) Larson, New Boston, Michael Larson, Texas, and Darwin Gillespie, Port Byron; one sister; and three brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother and his son, Jimmy.
