General Notes: Wife -

ANDERSEN, Josephine - The funeral for JOSEPHINE M. GILMORE ANDERSEN, 90, of Gibson City will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City., the Rev. Kathleen Edmisson will officiate. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She died at 8:38 a.m. Monday 3-16-1998 at Gibson Community Hospital Annex. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Gibson Community Hospital. Mrs. Andersen was born 7-30-1907, at Gibson City, a daughter of Craig M., and Ida C. Onken Gilmore. She married Fred W. Andersen on 7-24-1937 at Gibson City. He died 9-18-1973. Survivors include a sister, Wilma Straw, Atlanta, Ga.; and a sister-in-law, Dorothea Gilmore, Gibson City. Also surviving are four nieces, Sara Winship, Atlanta, Ga.; Ruth Davis, Gibson City; Jean Stark, Dundee; and Phyllis Dukes, Seattle; several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Mrs. Andersen resided in Gibson City most of her life. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of IL in 1929. Teaching high school math and science she accepted assignments at Reddick, where she worked for eight years, Paxton, during WW II, and Gibson City, where she worked for 20 years. At age 50 she completed a master's degree from the University of IL. She retired from teaching at Gibson City High School in 1967 with more than 30 years teaching total. Mrs. Andersen served as the Gibson City area news reporter for the Champaign News Gazette from 1940 - 1965. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma National Honorary society for women educators, a third-generation member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former president of the Senior Woman's Club. As accomplished pianists, Mrs. Andersen and her older sister, Ethel Sawyer, were frequently asked to play duets. Mrs. Andersen also accompanied her brother, George, as he played violin. During the 1960's the two sisters cultivated many varieties of iris on the family farm north of Gibson City. While living on the farm, and then in town, Mrs. Andersen also enjoyed growing tomatoes, geraniums and raspberries

Obituary: Iris Kay Anderson HONEYVILLE - Iris Kay Anderson, 61, of Honeyville, passed away January 2 3, 2002, at McKay Dee Hospital, after a long battle with illness, with her loving family around her. She was born April 9, 1940, in Parma, Idaho, to Loren Kay and Zina Cooke. She married Jerald J. Anderson, November 22, 1957, in Roy, Utah. Later taking their family to be sealed for time and all eternity at the Logan LDS Temple. She was an active member of the Honeyville Wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in her church callings. Iris is survived by her husband Jerald J. Anderson; children, Iris Schenk, Jerald J. II, Paula Fausett, William, Dennis, Adam, Janice Hood, Brett, Susan, Rebekah; 20 grandchildren; four brothers and six sisters. Iris was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, January 28, 2002, 11 a.m. at the Honeyville LDS Ward Chapel, 2620 West 6980 North, Honeyville. Friends may call Sunday, January 27th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday, January 28th from 9:30 - 10:40 a.m. at the Honeyville Church. General Notes: Husband -

Kyle lived just a short 3 months. He was born with what is called a hypo- plastic left ventricle in his heart. The left side did not grow enough to pump blood to his tiny body. He was waiting for a heart transplant. As time went on, Kyle got sicker, congested heart failure, lung disease, among many other problems. The primary Children's Medical Center was doing their second of three operations on 23 April 1994. It seemed as though the operation to open up an area of his heart so blood would pump by itself was successful. He started doing much better. The hospital as well as all of us were overjoyed. Then about 12 hours later Kyle started having seizures. During the operation they had dislodged a blood clot that was in his heart. He had a major stroke which cut off the circulation to the frontal lobe of his brain. At that point Kent & I decided as well as the hospital, that there was nothing more to be done, he had been through enough suffering. It was time for Kyle to return to his heavenly father. We took Kyle off the ventilator at 4:00PM Saturday, 30 April 1994. He died at 5:08PM. The exact time that he was born to us 3 months earlier. As I (his mother) sat outside right before he died, looking up to the cloudy sky, the clouds opened up and sent down a ray of light to bring Kyle home at long last. It was a beautiful sight to see. We will always love you and miss you Kyle. Be at peace.
