Information copied from newspaper clippings of the Princeville Telephone a nd other remembrances collected from my mother, Eleanor Ruth Harrison Parker.
Myron Absolom Harrison was returning on a Saturday from a meeting in Bloomington, IL when he was caught in a snow storm that evening. He stopped at the Delbert Daily residence and spent the night. The following day, the snow had drifted deeply, Myron decided he could not drive the car in the snow, he walked home. He got to the Herrmann home and was quite exhausted, so Myron stopped there in their home to rest. Myron died immediately after entering the house. Cause of death, angina pectoris.
The funeral was held at the Dunlap Presbyterian church on a Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas A. Stamp officiating. He was buried beside his parents and son Edmund in the Dickinson Cemetery near Dunlap. His sister Mrs. J.M. Emery, son Edmund, and parents preceded him in death.
Myron went to the nearby school and attended Jubilee college and at Greer College, Hoopeston, IL. While going to Greer College, he met Ida Bell Gilmore and they later married.
Myron believed very much in high education, and always worked toward higher standards in the local school and Dunlap High School. Also, he served as director of both schools for many years.
Was a member of the Prospect Presbyterian church of Dunlap. For many years Myron was an active member of the Patrons of Husbandry. He spent most of his life farming, and he felt that "producing food for humanity was man's greatest work." Myron wanted the soil to remain stable for the foundation of his farming and as a basis to build a home for his family.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Ida Harrison Are Held Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida B. Harrison were held from the Prospect Methodist church in Dunlap Saturday May 8, with Rev. Philip Richardson officiating. Burial was in Dickinson Cemetery near Dunlap. Visitation was from Hammitt Memorial Chapel Friday after 6:30 PM. Pallbearers were her grandsons, David Ostfeld, Craig Ostfeld, Arnold Harrison, George Brown, Stanley Hurt, and her nephew, Fred Gilmore.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Gibson City, February 18, 1879, a daughter of Craig and Ruth Ritchey Gilmore. She was graduated from Greer College, Hoopeston. She was married to Myron Harrison, who also attended Greer College, March 20, 1901, in Gibson City and came to live in the Dunlap area for the rest of her life with the exception of extended visits with her children. She was visiting in the home of her daughter, Eleanor, at the time of her death in Bakersfield, Calif., May 3, a day after returning from a brief stay in the hospital. Her daughter Mildred was visiting in Eleanor's home at the time of her mother's death. Mrs. Harrison has been a member of the Prospect Presbyterian Church in Dunlap for over 60 years, She was a member of the Friendly Circle Club.
Survivors include her children, Mrs. Eleanor Parker of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Helen Hurt of Dunlap, Robert Harrison of LaGrange, Wilbur Harrison of Princeville, Leslie Harrison of Saybrook, and Mrs. Mildred Ostfeld of Chicago; a sister, Miss Anna M. Gilmore; and a brother, Craig M. Gilmore of Gibson City. Preceding her in death were her husband, Myron in 1936, her daughter Marian in 1963 and her son Edmund in 1923.

William Howard Harrison, son of Samual Harrison & May Ann Spratt Harris on was born in Harrison Twp in Knox Co.
He got an 8th. grade education and he was self employed as a carpenter and farmer, built his own house with the help of his brother John. All of their children were born it that house except for Fern, she was born in Rice Co KS.
He married Ida Belle Gilmore, a beautiful girl that was sixteen years old, raised in wealth and never had to do anything. This marriage went sour but stayed together until they had 7 children. They did get a divorce and they lost everything that they had by going to court so often. Ida filed for the divorce Aug. 18, 1921 and she fought him in court every chance she got.
Will live in Fritchton, Ida live in a run down little 4 room house that was in bad need of repair.
Will later remarried to Minervia Baldwin, a widow, in Nov.24, 1921. This marriage didn't last long.
I don't remember my grandfather, Mom said that he held me once when I was a baby. He died a year after I was born.
He is buried along with his mother and father in the Herman Cemetery about 4 miles or so east of Vincennes on Upper Hart Street Road. He grew up in this area and went to church on this same ground next to the Cemetery where his father preached.
His father being a preacher, he was raised going to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, his wife Ida grew up going to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church next to her home. Will quit going to church in his later years.
Some of the family said that he was a strong Republican but I have found out that he was a Democrat.

Floeh and for the life of me I can't remember where I heard that name before. I am not so sure that she may have sent me some info once. I thank you again, Jim Harrison Ida Belle Gilmore Harrison, daughter of Ephraim Emery Gilmore & Nancy Jane Kindrick Gilmore was born in wealth and had anything she wanted. Said to have been "spoiled rotten", she threw rocks at other girls when they were going to school.
Stories have been told by so many that she was mean to her husband and to everyone that came near her. Her favorite Cliche was "I will cut out your heart and hang it on a tree". She would have her butchers knife and she would chase people, yelling that Cliche.
I have pictures of her when she got married, she was very beautiful. The pictures of her when she got old were so different. Hate ate her up, she got ugly as years went on.
I remember my grandmother and I didn't like her. Children feel the things in a person's heart. She was very deceitful, couldn't tell the truth. She hid my father in another Co so he would not get caught by law enforcement, he refused to pay child support.
She was married in her father's home by Rev. Alonzo Yates. The marriage record is wrong, it shows that Will married Ida's sister May Gilmore when May was her brides maid.
She died in May 2, 1950 in her daughter's home (Fern) in Indianapolis and was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery near the home where she was born. Fern had her dug up and a son, Guy Harrison and re buried at Roachdale, in where Fern's husband was raised. Fern never told anyone where them was and never admitted to having them moved. What is strange, Fern hated her brother Guy..

The Monmouth Review of 6 April 1899 reported in the Alexis news that James Gilmore had been a business caller in Monmouth on Tuesday. The Monmouth Review of 1 August 1905 reported that J. T. Gilmore of Alexis was a Monmouth visitor that day and called at the Review office. He had been a subscriber of the Review since its first issue in 1855. He was eighty-two and had been a resident of Warren Co for seventy-two years, having come into Spring Grove township the summer of 1833. Mr. Gilmore was on his way home from a visit with his sister, Mrs. Lafferty at Seaton. His obituary is found in the Monmouth Review of 14 March 1906. James T. Gilmore died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Irey in Monmouth on Wednesday 14 March at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 8 days, having been a resident of Warren Co for nearly 73 years. He died of heart trouble. James T. Gilmore was born 5 June 1823 in Jefferson Co, OH and was the son of Colonel Robert and Maria Gilmore. He came down the Ohio and up the Mississippi to Warren Co from OH, landing in Oquawka 13 June 1833. He bought a farm near Gerlaw when he was 25 where he lived until he moved to Alexis about 15 years before he died. He married Miss Mary C. Lair on 26 October 1846, they had five children, two died early, Marie at the age of 23 and Mary at 8 months. He was survived by Mrs. Anna Irey with whom he had been living, Mrs. Ella Stoner of near Viola and George W. Gilmore who lived on the home place. They also raised an adopted son, Sam McKahn who they raised from 8 weeks on. Mary C. died 1 March 1881. He was also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Thomas of Aledo, Lawrence H. of Monmouth, Frank of Sheridan, MO, Mrs. Rachel Armstrong of Alexis and Mrs. Bessie Lafferty of Seaton. He married for the second time, Mrs. Susan Leonard on 23 March 1897. The funeral services were held on Saturday from the Christian Church and interment was in the Mosher Cemetery

"George McClure born June 4, 1757, Ireland (Londonderry). Private in Cap t. Thomas Kennedy's Co. in 2nd Battalion of Cumberland Militia. Col. John Davis. He enlisted at age of 21 in 1775. Proof: Penn. Archives, 5th Series, Vol. 6, P. 158DAR. Also KY under George Rogers Clark. Died 1824; buried Upper Indiana Cemetery between Vincennes and Bruceville, in Stone." Mary Alice Long amends (letter to Mary Ellen Lind February 15, 1985): "Also served under brother, William, as an Ensign in 1780 under George Rogers Clark. (Payroll copy from VA State Library, IL Papers, Document 45). This was evidently a punitive raid against the Shawnee Indians who had attacked the KY settlements. They went all the way up to Piqua, OH and destroyed the Indian villages." History provides a glimpse of the activities of the brothers William and George during their service George Rogers Clark for six months in 1780. A Militia was mustered at Fort Pitt to march against the British allied Ohio tribes who has been raiding on the frontier. These tribes who had been resisting the advance of Virginia settlers had bolstered their resistance by accepting weapons from the British. Thomas Jefferson wanted to see the Ohio Shawnees driven from their lands (Calloway, Colin G. The American Revolution in Indian Country. (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1995:172)). Evidently George and William McClure participated in the raids on the Shawnee villages of Old Chillicothe and Picqua during that year: "On August 2, 1708, George Rogers Clark led a raid from KY, crossing at the mouth of the Licking River with one thousand men to attack the Shawnee villages of Old Chillicothe and Piqua. The Shawnees denied Chillicothe to Clark by burning it before his arrival on August 6, but he destroyed Piqua two days later, which he described as "composed of well built cabins located along the river each surrounded by a strip of corn." in contrast to their actions at Old Chillicothe, the Shawnees did not flee Piqua, and Clark reported that the fight reached a "savage fierceness on both sides" before his cannon and superior numbers "totally routed" the Shawnees about dark. Clark's men plundered graves and burned the corn fields for two days before withdrawing, losing fourteen men killed and thirteen wounded. Although the Shawnees suffered few casualties, the loss of their corn crop proved devastating, and they lived during the winter on wild game and British handouts." (Hurt, R. Douglas. Mary Alice (Planque) Long indicates that George and his brothers and families lived near Crab Orchard (south of Lexington) in what is now Lincoln Co, KY after leaving PA The extended McClure family then relocated to Knox Co, IN before 1806 According to the History of Knox and Daviess Counties, IN (Chicago: The Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1886): George McClure settled on Donation 29, in Palmyra Twp in Knox Co where he built a horse-mill and a small still house (1886:91). in 1815 he served on the committee which established the first Presbyterian Church in Knox Co (1886:304). George McClure married Jane Gilmore (born 17 October 1766) on June 4, 1785, probably in KY. They had eleven children. He built the family home, called "Ghlastorr", four miles east on Vincennes on what is now Route 50. This Gaelic name translates as "Green Hill". Until recent years, it was the oldest Indiana homestead to be continuously owned and operated by the same family. Apparently the four McClure brothers and their brother-IN-law, James C. Scott, all received land grants for their service in the Revolutionary War. Ghlastorr was the birthplace of James Scott McClure in 1813. After George McClure's death in 1829, the original farmstead was divided between his children. The text of George McClure's recorded will reads as follows (spelling as original) (Source information missing :212-213): "In the name of God Amen I George McClure Sr.. of the Co of Knox and state of IN being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all suck worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with 1st I do bequeath my soul to God and my body decently Interred 2nd I desire so much of my perishable property to be immediately sold after my decease to raise money sufficient to satisfy all my just debts and funeral expenses, and the balance of my perishable property with all the Grain on the farm together with one fifth of the proceeds of my farm I bequeath to my beloved wife Jane, with the exception of such articles as here after may be mentioned (viz) 1st I Meuth to my son George one Bed and Bedding 2nd I bequeath to my son William one Bed and Bedding. 3rd I bequeath to my son James one Bed and Bedding and one year old colt called Allibae, and fifty dollars. 4 I bequeath to my son George one hundred acres of land in the old donation Lot No. twenty on the west side of said lot, not to interfere with improvement, and if it should lack for quantity on the North west corner on account of the improvement then run south west for less or more. 6 I bequeath to my son James four hundred acres of land Lot No. Sixty in the old donation. Obituary for John H. Gilmore John H. Gilmore John H. Gilmore died at 9 o'clock Wednesday evening at the family residenc e, 875 South Broadway. He had been ill for almost a year with dropsical trouble. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Fannie Gilmore. The body was removed to Morgan's undertaking establishment and prepared for burial. (Decatur Review, October, 10, 1912) The funeral of John H. Gilmore was held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at Moran's chapel. The services were conducted by Reverend E.M. Smith, pastor of the First Christian church. The interment was in Greenwood. (Decatur Review, October 12, 1912)

He was with Col. George Rogers Clark in his campaigns of Vincennes, Knox C o, IN, 1778-1779, in the Revolutionary War. He settled in Palmyra Twp, Knox Co, IN by 1790. A Government Stone marks his grave. He was in the Knox Co Militia during the Indian Wars, was a Scout with the rank of Lt. Col. in the Battle of Tippicanoe(7 Nov. 1811), and was a Commanding Colonel of the First Regiment of in Militia, in the War of 1812. He was an early settler of Palmyra Twp, Knox Co, IN He settled in the area of Verne, but was called Jordanville. According to his daughter Malinda he was born in VA (1880 census). According to his Grandson George W. Jordan's Bible Ephraim was born in VA and his father's name was Robert. Her second marriage was to Albert Grandville Craig, a jeweler in Bicknel l, Knox Co, IN Her daughter Vera married Gerald W. Landis. He was a ball coach in Linton and he became a state representative or something like that.
I found where there was a bomb planted in his car, someone set his car on fire, and he had other troubles like this.
Mary was a member of the Bicknell Christian Church. She was buried in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Bicknell, in near her last husband, Albert Craig.
I found record of her second marriage (to Craig), says she was born May 18, 1873, not 1868, and she divorced Wilson in 1915.
