RIMMER HURDLE MILLS - Zellie Clayton Rimmer, 86, of 2190 Poindexter Rd., died Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at her home. Born in Person Co., she was daughter of the late George Washington and Freddie Rhew Clayton, wife of the late Ennis Astor Rimmer, and mother of the late Pamela Kay Rimmer and E. Arnold Rimmer. Mrs. Rimmer was a homemaker and a member of Berry's Grove Baptist Church. She received mother of the year award in 1957. Mrs. Rimmer is survived by two sons, Larry Rimmer and Mike Rimmer, both of Hurdle Mills; seven daughters, Sandra R. Harris, of Hurdle Mills, Dana R. Brown, of Charlotte, Lynne R. Cates, of Pittsboro, Holly R. Horton, of Watha, Debbie R. Foushee, of Timberlake, Jane M. Rimmer, of Roxboro, and LaRue R. Cox, of Hurdle Mills; and 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2005, at Berry's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Willingham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2005, at the Brooks & White Funeral Home. Grester obviously married Glendoris sometime during WW II. A newspaper art icle states that she is the 'wife of Lieutenant Clelland who is stationed with an Army Infantry Division at Pasadena, CA'. I was told by both Ella (Mary Ellen CLELLAND) and Grandmother CLELLAND that Uncle Grester was a POW in Africa during the war. His obituary lists the names of three stepdaughters: Mrs. Kenneth BRYANT of Baton Rouge, LA., Mrs. Danny CROUCH and Miss Sheila DAVIS, both of Augusta.[kreplogle2Krick7.FTW]

Obituary: Heading: Rebecca (Becky) D. Clement Dateline: Greer Rebecca (Becky) Dowling Clement, 63, of Greer, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the loving wife of J. Ralph Clement. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Francis T. and Charlene Manley Dowling. Becky was a former employee of WESC radio and was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Leigh Clement of the home and Blair Keeley and husband, Scott of Greer; three grandsons, Peyton, Landon and Garren Keeley; ten sisters, Patricia Gibson, Shirley (Charles) Davis, Frances (Jim) Kelley, Linda (Jerry) Henderson, Terry Dowling, Adrienne ("Gar") Garrett, Debbie (John) Howard, Kathryn Gebler, Trina (Jim) Kolenich, and Laurie (Keith) McBride; three brothers, Tommy (Donna) Dowling, Jimmy (Carolyn) Dowling, and Frank (Laura) Dowling; two sisters-in-law, Bernadine Dowling and Theresa Dowling Shaffer and special neighbor Margie Parker. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Larry Dowling and Tim Dowling; a brother-in-law, Joe Gibson and a nephew, Patrick Carter Dowling. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by Father Mike Schnatterly. Visitation will be held 7:00-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary. The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff of Interim Hospice for their love and support during the past few months. In "A Sketch of my Ancestors" by Mary O. Haws York we have, "Great Grandfa ther Benjamin Haws came from Wales and settled in NC". Haws family record of Mrs Edna H. Bentwet (deceased) Research in Virginia State Library, Richmond, Henrico Co, VA, by Mrs. Bentwet Court Order to bind Benjamin Haws to Church Warden in Augusta Co, VA 1752.  Indentured 1753 to serve until of Full age (21). Augusta Parish Vestry Book 1746-1779, Pt. 1, Reg.C 3459 Wills of Jacob Clements (Clemens) & William Campbell. The Forgy Book by Lucille Wallace in Genealogical Library 929.273 F764w has Benjamin's name spelled Hawes, and his origin is not given. G.W. Haws in a letter-article to Chloe Haws Lunt says Benjamin was the son of Benjamin, with a Scot-Wales-U.S. background. G.W. Haws wrote an interesting book, "The Haws Family and their seafaring Kin."   Judy Haws Murray found that the Haws graveyard in KY may be in the vicinity of Bowling Green, but it is hard to find, and has only initials on the headstones which may or may not be of help. A Benjamin Hawes was sentenced for stealing a woman's purse and shipped to Virginia Landing in 1730. Probably the same Benjamin is noted as serving in the Virginia Militia in 1746.  in 1750 a Benjamin Hawes is added to the Titheables (Taxable's List) of Augusta, Virginia (Probably the Same Benjamin). An orphan Benjamin is ordered to be indentured by the Augusta Court in 1752; he may be the son of the previous mentioned Benjamin then deceased. An orphan Samuel Hawes is indentured in Augusta Virginia in 1757--maybe a brother of the orphan Benjamin. Other facts are not found at present which would establish their parentage, so far leads are speculative in nature. Also spelled Hawes

Karma Jean Facer Williams of Ogden, Utah, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2004, in Ogden.
   Karma was born in Provo, Utah, on April 28, 1940, to William Holbrook Facer and Lyle Holdaway Facer. She grew up in So. California where she graduated from high school. After serving an LDS Mission in Leeds, England, Karma settled in the Salt Lake area. In time she met her husband there and eventually re-located to Ogden. Karma's husband, Jordan, was a special blessing in her life. Their 14 years together were wonderfully supportive and devoted.
   Karma's later life was a struggle as her health declined, but through it all she showed determination and humor. She was a dear and loving soul and will be missed.
   Karma was preceded in death by her father, William Facer, and leaves behind her husband, Jordan, mother, Lyle Facer, and sisters, Marilyn Sheard, Kathleen Spencer and Loreen Danby. She will be remembered in a funeral service at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North in Orem on Friday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be Provo City Cemetery. General Notes: Wife - 



Mrs. Nina L. Gulley, 47 of 108 N. Fourth St., Dupo, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Hospital, East St. Louis.
She had been ill more than a year and in the hospital two days.  Mrs. Gulley had lived in Dupo 19 years.
Survivors are her husban, William; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Betty) Gummersheimer and Mrs. James (Patsy) ?umpf, both of Columbia; three sons, Dennis, Ronnie, and Terry, all at home; two granddaughters; four sisters Mrs. Versa Guilford of St. Louis, and Mrs. Curt (Bonita) Weichert, Miss Pauline Cleveland and Miss Doris Cleveland, and a brother Idus Cleveland, all of Dupo.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Congregational Church, Dupo, with Rev. H. M. Nottrott officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Columbia.  Friends may call at Dashner Funeral Home, Dupo, after 4 p.m. today.

Isaac Glaze enlisted in 1863, in the Federal Army, Company K, 13th West Virginia Infantry; he served as drummer and was discharged in July, 18654. Isaac Marion Glaze was a janitor for a public school in the 1920 Monongalia County, WV
He died on 20 Oct 1922, in Morgantown, Monongalia County, WV, at his daughter's home of "the infirmities of old age and valvular heart disease." Alene Clifton Fowler, 81, of 421 Ennis Road, Angier, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006. The Johnston County native was born Feb. 20, 1925, to the late Victor and Flossie Parrish Clifton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberts L. Fowler; a son, Mitchell Lynn Fowler; and brothers, James and Tom Clifton. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Friendship Baptist Church by Mack Fowler and L.G. Green. Burial will follow at Angier Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Kay Owen of Angier; a son, Mack Fowler and wife Jean of Angier; sisters, Beulah Johnson of Benson, Leona Penny of Angier and Myrtle Kornegy of Oak Island; grandchildren, Karon Fowler of Angier, Anita Fowler of Bahama, Mal Fowler and wife Carolyn of Broadway, Dee Johnson and husband Richard of Angier, Kellie Fowler of Angier, Martie Owen of Angier and Keith Owen of Angier; and great-grandchildren, Kalyn, Kylie and Jake Owen, Nicole, Luke and Clay Fowler, Emily, Erica and Cody Johnson.

General Notes: Husband - 



Levi 'Lee' C. Cline, 74

A funeral for Levi "Lee" C. Cline of Midway will be 2 p.m. Friday at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Floyd Flowers officiating. Visitation will be noon until service time. Mr. Cline died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, in Mountain Home at age 74.

He was born Monday, March 20, 1933, in Walnut Ridge, the son of Maxie and Hattie (McAnally) Cline. He worked as a service technician for a heating and air conditioning company. Lee was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. Lee lived in this area for 24 years, moving from Paragould. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 3183, in Midway and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing board games, especially Scrabble.

Lee Cline is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Jerry (Sheri) Cline and Tommy (Wanda) Cline, all of Mountain Home; one daughter, Karen (Kevin) Andes of Troy, Ill.; five grandchildren; Josh, Katherine, Tommy II, Cara and Krystal; three great-grandchildren; Korah, Alyssa and Tony; two brothers, Jack Cline of Paragould and Conard Cline of Pineville; one sister, Louise Williamson of Rockford, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Burial will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Rodney Cline, Josh Cline, Tommy Cline II, Steve Bolin, Ian Reitz and Kevin Andes as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.

Hattie Cline

PARAGOULD -- Hattie Cline, 95, of Paragould died Monday at the Paragould Nursing Center in Paragould.

She was born June 12, 1911, in Franklin, the daughter of late Lum and Elizabeth McAnally.

She has gone to be with her husband, Maxie Revill Cline, whom she married on Nov. 26, 1928, and her two daughters, Elizabeth Douglas and Nita June Baldwin.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and J. Williamson of Rockford, Ill.; sons and daughter-in-law, Levi C. Cline of Mountain Home, Conard Cline of Calico Rock and Jack and Caline Cline of Paragould; 27 grandchildren, 47 great- grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Narine Simpson of Paragould and Bertha McAnally of Franklin.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Her life will be celebrated Wednesday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 tonight at Heath Funeral Home
