Garnet Vaughan
Garnet Vaughan, 89, of Elmira, died August 16, 2005 at home. She was born June 30, 1916 in Raleigh County, a daughter of the late Sherman and Gay Campbell Carter.She was a retired postmaster from the Elmira Post Office and a member of the Elmira Baptist Church. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Arden Dell and Rhonda Vaughan of Gaithersburg, MD; Danny H and Sarah Vaughan of Elmira; and Raleigh Keith and Linda Vaughan of Laurel, MD; sisters, Marjorie Clevenger, Marlene Mace and Shirley Young, all of Akron, OH; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Oran Dell Vaughan, on April 29, 1980; daughter, Janette Lynn Craft; and four brothers and one sister.
Services were at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 20th at the Elmira Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Gerwig officiating. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery.
Friends were able to call from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Friday at Richard M Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
