Joseph H. appeared on the 1910 census for Mercer County, IL. He gave his place of birth as KY. His age, on the microfilm, is smudged, but it could be either "41" or "47." In 1910, Mercer County, IL, Joseph H. is shown as the head of his own household in Perryton Township. His wife, Emily, is listed as 40 years of age, born in IL. A 16-year-old son, Glenn, was also born in IL. Under the marital status question, Emily is classifed as married 20 years. Joseph's however reads, ""2M, 20 years." Although Emily says she was born in IL and Joseph was born in KY, Glenn's "place of birth of father" reads "IL", "place of birth of mother" reads "KY." Compiler assumes this was simply an error on the part of the enumerator in switching the places of birth. Also in Perryton Township, compiler found, in the household of William F. MANNING, a "Susie F. O'DELL, 17, 'Servant', b. IL." Susie's father was born in KY, her mother in IL. Compiler suspects this is a daughter of Joseph H. and Emily O'DELL. Susie's marital status was "Single." Compiler established contact with Mary RYDBERG, wife of a descendent of Joseph H. O'DELL in November, 1998. Per data collected by Mrs. RYDBERG, supported by a death certificate, an anniversary announcement and an obituary, Joseph was confirmed to be the son of Jordan and Hannah (WILLIAMS) O'DELL. Per Mrs. RYDBERG's data, Joseph and his bride, Emily CAIN, were married in the O'DELL home in Eliza Township by E. Jordan O'DELL, a minister. Ms. Rydberg writes, "O'DELL. "The death certificate of Joseph H. O'Dell gives his date of birth as 2-9-1868 and lists Hannah WILLIAMS as his mother and Jordan O'DELL as his father."

Leonard Higgs ran a concession wagon for the Martin Brothers Circus.
I found an article from Billboard Magazine that says in 1948 Leonard
bought a half interest in this Martin Bros. Circus
Leonard was quite a character. He had lots of tattoos, and he told
the gentleman that he wrestled boa constrictors. Leonard's "wife"
Pat, "Jack(ie?), and Leonard arranged Easter egg hunts for the little
boy for a few years
He married Patricia L. Cain on 30 Oct 1978 in Dallas County, TX.
They divorced on 21 Sept 1988 in Hill County, TX.
Leonard was 75, and Pat was 53.

Times Record Feb 28, 1911 William N. Caine William N. Cain, son of John and Esther Cain, was born October 14, 1835 a nd died February 14, 1911 at the home of his son, Herman H. Caine near Aledo, ILL, aged 75 years and 4 months. He was married to Sarah A. Cooper March 10, 1862. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nancy J. Cooper of Scandia, KS, and seven children namely, Herman H,. Mrs Emily A. Odell and Mrs. Josephine Sprosten of Aledo, Mrs. Dora Mickle of Alene, OR, Mrs. Esther L. Stevens of Seaton, Illinois, and Clark and Lester of Hamlet, Illinois all of whom were with the deceased during his last illness except Mrs. Mickle. Mr. Caine was preceeded in death by his wife, two daughters, and one son. When a young man Mr. Caine enlisted in Co. B 126 Illinois Volunteer infantry and was a member of Reynolds Post G.A.R and took a lively interest in all patriotic affairs. Mr. Caine was a man greatly loved by all the members of his family and by all who knew him. He was very religious and kept faith as a sacred privilege. He was a member of the Hamlet Presbyterian church. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Nancy Cooper of Scandia, KS, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas F. Smith of Toulon, Illinois. Funeral services were held at 12 o'clock Thursday, February 16, 1911 at the Hamlet Presbyterian church. Rev Cooper officiating. Interment was in Hamlet Cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We wish in this way to express our gratitude to those who assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved father and brother. My grand mothers name was Marie Blanche Cairns. She was born on April 03, 1917 at Dover, Ohio, she died on July 30, 1980 at Molly Stark Hospital; and lived at 1531 Valerie Ave. N.W., Massillon (Perry Township), Ohio. I do not know when they were married. My grandmother was driving a car and had either a stroke or a heart attack and she hit a telephone pole. She was in the hospital for a few year before she finally passed away. I have a picture of Dick's and my grandmothers head stone and dick's military marker. I am going to attach one photo then send another email with the other picture. I also have a copy of the 1920 census of Dick's Family when they lived in Clarksburg, WV. i will send this in a seperate e-mail.

Services for Karen (Tippy) Calcagno, 51, of Mountain Lakes, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Community Church, Mountain Lakes. She died Tuesday at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Winchester, Mass., Calcagno lived in Mountain Lakes most of her life
She was a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realtors, Mountain Lakes, for 10 years.
She was a longtime active member of the Community Church, serving as director of children's ministries for the past 12 years.
Calcagno was a member of the Morris County Republican Committee.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph; a son, Joseph II; two brothers, Glenn and Gil Tippy; a sister, Christine Tippy; her father and stepmother, Harold E. and Carmela Tippy; five nieces and nephews, Brian and Glenn Tippy, Eric Calcagno, Kate Gilligan and Merideth Calcagno; and a grandniece, Callia Gilligan
