Lawrence. Charlotte Lawrence was born in London. Her father George Lawrence was a singer in the London Music Halls, when he was not doing his day job. Her family names are Lawrence (Lorenzo), Shipp, Gill and Forrest. Her ancestors were from London, Cambridgeshire and Italy. All that is known of her Italian ancestors is her grandfather was Frank Lorenzo born c1879 in Como, Italy and he changed his name to Lawrence after he arrived in England.
