The bride was married in a travelling dress of grey embroidered cashmere, with hat to match. Miss Benson was bridesmaid and the bride was given away by her mother. There was a list of very valuable presents. After the wedding, Mr and Mrs Rowlands left by train for Shewsbury and Salisbury for their honeymoon.

Many accidents took place and you had much to contend with in dealing with them but everyone had the utmost trust in your abilities. Although the distance between you and the quarry was a problem and through all difficulties you obeyed every call, night and day. We praise you also for your service to all in trouble, both rich and poor ...(small section difficult to read)..and feel at the same time proud that you were so ready to give to us your able and valuable services at difficult and sad times. We recognise with gratitude our great debt to you for all your kindness and generosity in the past. We humbly pray you will continue to enjoy a life given to lessening the pain and easing the lives of the sick and injured. We wish you and your dear wife every success and assure you that you will be forever in the hearts of the quarrymen of Bryneglwys and the residents of Abergynolwyn.
