Obituary of Mecklenburg NC United States Richard Matthews Bowring Mr. Bowring, 61, of Charlotte, died Friday, May 14th at Carolinas Speciality Hospital. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 20, 1942, Richard was the son of Elsie Matthews Bowring and the late Joseph Robert Bowring. Mr. Bowring had resided in Charlotte for 24 years. He had been employed 30 years with Harris Teeter and had worked part time for 5 years with Lowes. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr Bowring is survived by his wife Linda, children Douglas Bowring of Carmel NY, Zackary Bowring of the home, Nancy Phillips of Tega Cay, SC, Penny Lane of San Antonio, Texas; mother Elsie Bowring of Gastonia, brothers, David Bowring of Macon, GA, Robert Bowring of Evans,GA, George Bowring of Gastonia; sister Susan Bowring of Gastonia; and two grandchildren.1
