Descendents of Duncan I the Gracious, King of Scotland, report created 19 Mar 2001 from http://www.geocities.com/craigs_kahunas/report_duncan.htm states his name was Muiredach (Earc) mac Eogain O'Neill King of Ailech, that he died 480 (rather than 470 of other records), and that the future kings of Ireland and Scotland split here with his sons.
"The Book of McKee" states that, according to Irish legend, the three sons of Earc mac Eochaidh Muinreamhar, named Fergus Mor, Loarn, and Aongus, settled in Scotland circa 505 A.D. where they established a colony of the Irish Dal Riada in Argyle.
FHL - "The Book of McKee," pg 271 - pedigree from William Skene, D.C.L., LL.D., Historiographer-Royal of Scotland, in "Celtic Scotland," Edinburgh 1890; his son, Loarn, was King of Scotland 503-513, and his son Fergus reigned from 513-529 - from O'Flaherty's Ogygia, written in 1684. Achy was 5th lineal descendant of Conaire, Irish King 212-220 A.D., and his grandson Loarn became 1st King of Scotland in 503, per "The Kings of Scotland" from O'Flaherty's Ogygia, written in 1684, reprinted in The Book of McKee, pg 407
Book of McKee pg 404
Pg 395 states that Muircheartach Mac Erca became king of Ireland 503-526 and was the son of Muireadhach, son of Eoghan, son of Niall
He has also been listed as son of Loarn (Loard Mor) King of Scotland

History of the Lands and Their Owners in Galloway, FHL #941.49 H2m 1994, v 2, p 318 states: "It [Mertoun M'Kie now Mertoun Hall] afterwards passed to the M'Kies...John M'Kie was in possession in the year 1490. In 1504 we again find John M'Kie. In the year 1555, Richard M'Kie had succeeded, who was followed by Archibald M'Kie in possession in 1587. The lands then seem to have passed from the M'Kies."
Apparently he had no heirs.
