Blackcastle Manuscript, p 139 states he had a sasine on the Town and Lands of Deerimore, Lettermore and others 3 May 1672. He was appointed by the Scots Parliament a Commissioner for Sutherland for raising supplies for the Army 7 Jun 1690, and died sometime before 1707 when Elizabeth Mackay, his relict married John Gray of Rhynnie.
