"In 1606 Alexander M'Ghie... obtained from James VI a charter of the lands and barony of Livingstone, and the land of Slogarie, with patronage of Balmaghie church. Whom he married we are not told, but the name of his eldest son was Robert. He had retour on the 30th April 1611 ..."
