[5539] Blackcastle Manuscript p 45 states he was served son heir of his deceased father and granted a procuratory for resigning some lands 13 Mar 1702. Contract of lands 1691/1692 and was a progenitor of the Ulbster family. "Disposition and Assignation thereof by Captain John Sinclair of Ribbigill lawful son and heir served & retoured to the deceased John Sinclair of Ribbigill his father, also of the rights to all Maills and profits from the said lands from the decease of the said Anna MacKy, to George Lord Reay, dated at Brims 13th March 1702, before these witnesses Sir George Sinclair of Clyth, John Sinclair of Brims and others."
