[9239] FHL Caithness Family History 941.13 D2h pg 41 states Captain Dunbar was the second son of Alexander Dunbar of Grangehill, and he was the male representative of that family, which is descended from Sir Alexander Dunbar of Westfield, son of James, Earl of Moray. Captain Dunbar took the designation 'of Westfield.' He purchased Milton--now called Westfield--and Sibster (for Captain Dunbar's first marriage, vide Dunbar of Hempriggs); and by his second wife, Isabella Sinclair, he had two sons and three daughters..."

Balmaclellan Graveyard Inscriptions lists: "In memory of Andrew McKie who died at Ironlosh 5th July 1860 aged 64 years. Also Mary Crosbie, his wife who died 21st August 1865 aged 73 years. Also James McKie, his granddaughter who died 16th Jan'y 1872 aged 21 years. Also Agnes McKie, his daughter who died at Dumfries, on 27th April 1883 aged 54 years. James McKie his son who died 22nd October 1894 aged 79 years. Margaret McRobert wife of James McKie who died 9th Aug't 1907 aged 64 years.
