The Book of Mackay, pg 315, 331; married, no issue
Blackcastle, p 140 states: "Dr. Hugh Mackay who studied Medicine and settled sometime in Jamaica, but afterwards returned home, and had sasine on the Lands of Letterhansbeg in the County of Sutherland in which sasine he is designed eldest son of Robert Mackay Tutor of Farr, dated 30th September 1742."
It appears that Blackcastle confused the two half-brothers named Hugh. The elder Hugh, who died in 1746, was not a doctor in Jamaica, although he likely had the Sasine.
