[10441] History of the Lands and Their Owners in Galloway, Vol 5, p 274-5 states she received one of four shares of Newton -- upon division by her uncle Thomas 9 Nov 1664 -- and her heirs were Gavin Brown of Bishopton, William M'Kinnell in Kirktoun, and Margaret M'Conchie for a life-rent as adjudged 19 May 1735.
[5652] History of the Lands and their Owners in Galloway 941.49 H2m v. 3, p 34 corrects the history to state: Robert Carsane or A'ccarson of Glen had two daughters, co-heiresses. Marion, who married Robert, son of Sir John Gordon of Lochinvar. Janet, who married Edward Maxwell of Breconside, and afterwards of Lochrutton and Hills. The eldest daughter obtained the lands. Her husband, Sir Robert Gordon, styled of Glen, entered into a bond of manrent to serve John, fourth Lord Maxwell, dated 3 Feb 1512.
