Elizabeth was added to this family because her children appear to be the ones spoken of in The Descendants of Iver McKay and Ann Miller of Bladen County, North Carolina and Allied Families, by V Mayo Bundy and Norma Melvin Bundy Printed by The Printery 2101-C Patterson St, Greensboro, NC 27407 US/CAN 929.273 M192bm, p 18: "Alexander McKay's land records and those of his children with those of Iver McKay that it is reasonable to assume that they were related. Alexander setled in Cumberland County which adjoined Bladen. In 1740 New Hanover records, "John mcKay died in 1739" on his land which was in the vicinity of Mr. John McIver and Deborah McKeithan in Bladen and left his estate to Alexander McKay to defray the expense of transporting from Ireland his sisters, Jean and Margaret. In 1771 Margaret McKay of Cumberland sold to John McKay of Cumberland 150 acres on the NW River. This John evidently was of the Alexander McKay family and Margaret could have been one of the sisters of John McKay who made provision for their transportation from Ireland." John, Margaret, and Jean would have been first cousins of Alexander.
