The Kings of Scotland, from The Book of McKee, pg 409, A History of the Scottish Highlands (941 H2k), pg 51, he succeeded to the throne in 970, when his cousins were slain - he was a brother of Duff; he reigned for 24 years and was assassinated by Finella, wife of the Maormor of the Mearns, and daughter of Cunechat, the Maormor of Angus, in revenge for having put her only son to death- date of death given as 994 "Robert the Bruce, King of Scots" by Ronald McNair Scott by internet www.parsonstech.com/genealogy says he was killed in a blood feud. He reigned as King of Scotland 971-995. His wife may have been a princess from Leinster, Ireland. It is speculated he may also have had a son Suibne Prince born before 996 and died in 1034.
