The Book of Mackay pg. 337. Military officer of the H.E.I.C., married Emma Bishop, and died in 1831 without issue.
Blackcastle, p 142 states that James Mackay was appointed in 1825 an Officer of the 27th Regiment of Native Infantry in the Honourable East India Company's Service on the Bengal ERstablishment. He married 20 Oct 1830 Emma, daughter of Lieut-Col Bishop of the same Regt and died at Gurrawara, a Lieutenant 27 Nov 1831.
