[5650] History of the Lands and Their Owners in Galloway, FHL 941.49 H2m v. 4, p 289 states: "He [William Gordon] is stated to have been an illegitimate son of Sir John Gordon of Lochinvar, to whom King James V granted a charter of legitimation. It is evident, however, that this must refer to his father, as Sir John Gordon died in 1512; King James V began to reign in 1513..."

v. 1, p 104 states that Patrick Agnew married Katharine, daughter of Sir John Gordon of Lochinvar, by Marion, daughter and heiress of John Accarson of Rusco. However, v. 3, p 34 corrects the history and states that Marion was the wife of Sir Robert Gordon of Glen.
