Note:
A woman claiming to be the Grand Duchess died in old age, but recent evidence establishes that young Anastasia was indeed executed with the rest of her family during the Russian Civil War.
Note that Anastasia is first uterine cousin with the mother of Prince Philip Duke Edinburgh, and therefore shares his mtDNA. The Prince himself was therefore chosen to do DNA comparison with the impostor.
