He was being treated for smoke inhalation, a hospital spokesman said.

Police said Allen Dewbery(sic) and his roommate, Donald Ray Anderson, were alerted to the fire about 4 a.m. Friday by barking dogs.

The pair rushed next door to help and were able to grab the elder Dewberry and get him out of the house, Detective Capt. Allan Coopock said.

But flames and heat prevented them from going back into the house after Mrs. Horton, he said.

No cause of the fire, which destroyed the house, has been established, Coppock said.

"there was no foul play nor did it appear to be an electrical short," he said.

David Brooks of Richwood, Texas served the bridegroom as best man. Groomsmen were George Frazier and Willie Lathan, both of Clute, Texas; and Larry Rosenbohm and Lawrence Jasper, both of Lake Jackson, Texas. Ring bearer was Terrell Houston of Oklahoma City.

The musical program was provided by soloists, Robin Young, niece of the bride; and Sandra Thompson, cousin of the bride. Ms. Thompson also served as pianist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the E. W. Marland Room of Security Bank. The flowers, catering and cake were furnished by Barbara Young of Oklahoma City, sister of the bride. The video was taken by a family friend, Mrs. Joyce McDonald of Ponca City. Photographs were taken by Burnice Black of Angleton, Texas, a friend of the couple. Hostesses for the reception were Mrs. Nancy Piggee, Rita Devonshire and Beatrice Dixon.

The couple left for a wedding trip to Orlando, Fl. Following their return, they established a home in Angleton, Texas.

The bride, a graduate of Central State University, is employed as an ecology coordinator for BASF Corporation in Freeport, Texas. The bridegroom, who attended Texas Southern University in Houston, is an I&E supervisor for Dow Chemical Company in Freeport.

Master Charles Alexander Dewberry was born on June 12th, 1986 to the union of Lawrence Hawkins and Robin Dewberry in Kansas City, Missouri.

At an early, early age, Master Charles Alexander accepted the Lord as his own personal savior. He attended the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Richardson Elementary and K-5 Nowlin Middle. He was a very outstanding student and was an Honor roll student and took part in the D.A.R.E. Program at his school. He enjoyed football and all types of electronic games.

On April 18th, 1998, he entered into eternity leaving behind to cherish his fond memories: her mother, Robin Dewberry,; father Lawrence Charles Hawkins Jr.; one brother, Lawrence Charles Hawkins III; one sister, Nicole Hawkins' grandparents, L. C. Hawkins, Pearl Hawkins, Carter Dewberry, Inez Dewberry, and Robert Dewberry; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Medical Notes: Raytown police are investigating an accident involving an 11-year-old boy who died Saturday after he was struck by a car Friday while riding his bicycle. Charles a. Dewberry was riding south on Evanston Street when he entered 87th Street about 7:20 p.m. and was struck by a westbound car. He was unconscious and died Saturday. A 39-year-old Grandview woman was driving the car.

Ms. Rushonda 'Renee' Talifero was born on February 14, 1973 in Kansas City, Missouri, to the union of Jerome and Mona Talifero. Rushonda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Emmitt and Mary Jane Talifero.

Rushonda was educated among the Kansas City Missouri School district, graduating from Central High School.

She loved working with people. She was employed by Station Casino. She had a sparkling smile that would brighten up anyone's life. She had many, many friends. If you knew her, you would have loved her. Her personality really stood out.

Houston averaged more than 20 points in his junior and senior seasons at Oklahoma State and left as the school's all-time leader in nine categories, including points (2,379), rebounds (1,190), blocked shots (223) and minutes played (4,113). He was the third player in Big Eight Conference history (after Danny Manning and Wayman Tisdale) to total more than 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 200 blocks in his college career. Houston was a Second-Team All-American in his last two seasons, and as a senior he powered the Cowboys to a 20-0 start and a second consecutive trip to the regional semifinals in the NCAA Tournament. The Chicago Bulls nabbed Houston with the last pick of the first round of the 1992 NBA Draft, then promptly traded him to the Golden State Warriors in a three-team deal that brought Rodney McCray to Chicago. Houston spent two seasons with Golden State, seeing action in 150 games and averaging 4.1 points and 3.4 rebounds. He was an NBA "tweener"--not tall enough for power forward and yet too bulky to play small forward. Traded to the Seattle SuperSonics in 1994 along with Sarunas Marciulionis, Houston saw limited action for a talented Sonics squad, and was traded to Sacramento, again accompanying Marciulionis, in 1995. He missed 50 games of the 1995-96 season due to injury and saw relatively little action in the 25 games in which he did play for Sacramento.

1995-96 Injuries hampered Houston throughout 1995-96. He made three trips to the injured list, missing nine games in December because of Achilles tendinitis, 12 games in January and February due to lower back spasms and the final 29 games of the season due to bilateral Achilles tendinitis. He played in 25 games as a reserve forward, averaging 3.4 ppg on career-high shooting of .500 from the field and .808 from the free throw line. He also averaged 3.4 rpg in 11.0 mpg. His best game of the season was on Nov. 14 against the Lakers, when he grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and matched his season-high eight points. He also scored eight points at Indiana on Nov. 10. He was not on Sacramento's playoff roster.

1994-95 After playing two seasons at Golden State, Houston spent the 1994-95 campaign with the Seattle SuperSonics. He was traded to the Sonics along with guard Sarunas Marciulionis for guard Ricky Pierce, the draft rights to Carlos Rogers, and two 1995 second-round draft choices. Houston found himself on a deep and talented Seattle team and consequently played only 6.6 minutes per contest in 39 games. He functioned primarily in a mop-up role but occasionally saw action in prime time. He played 1 minute in the Sonics' first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

1993-94 With his 6-foot-5 stature and 250-pound build, Houston found part-time work at the unlikely position of center. Golden State Warriors Coach Don Nelson was not afraid to use him against some of the league's dominant big men. In 71 games with the Warriors in 1993-94, Houston averaged 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per contest. He shot .458 from the floor. Houston spent five games on the injured list in January with a sprained left ankle sustained in practice. He had his best outing on February 10 against the New York Knicks, recording 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 blocked shot. Prior to the 1994-95 season Houston was traded with Sarunas Marciulionis to the Seattle SuperSonics for Ricky Pierce, the draft rights to Carlos Rogers, and a pair of 1995 second-round draft picks.

1992-93 Byron Houston left Oklahoma State as the school's all-time leader in nine statistical categories, including scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. Selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 1992 NBA Draft, Houston was traded to Golden State in a three-way deal that sent Rodney McCray to the Bulls. Houston, who patterns his game after Charles Barkley's, played the most games (79) of anyone on the Warriors' injury-depleted roster, averaging 5.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game. Of the 26 players picked ahead of Houston, only 15 bettered his 421 points and 315 rebounds. Houston scored in double digits 12 times with a season-best performance of 18 points (6-of-8 field goals, 6-of-7 free throws) at Phoenix on November 27. He led the team in rebounding five times with three games of 10 or more. Houston had a 14-point, 11-rebound effort (tying a season high) for his first double-double against Dallas on April 2. Another season highlight came on February 13, when Houston's steal set up a game-winning jumper by Latrell Sprewell against Sacramento.
