| been Daniel [4] Peavey. At all events, Simon
[5] was born about 1790 and married Mary V__, (probably Varney) according
to Rochester town records. The family records (many of which were
given me by Miss Maude Vesta Howard of Wakefield, Massachusetts) state
that Simon [5] had two sons: Sylvester [6] Peavey and Moses Varney [6]
Peavey, and also one daughter, Huldah.
Sylvester [6] Peavey was born in 1814 and died in 1855 (T.R.). In 1846 he married Elizabeth J. Bean, according to Somersworth records. The family notes say he had the following children: James Farrington [7] Peavey, born in 1848, Sarah E., born in 1847, George Sylvester [7] Peavey, born in 1850, Simon Fillmore [7] Peavey, born in 1854 and Vesta, born in 1852. James F. [7] Peavey lived in various towns in New Hampshire and in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In 1868 he married Ida E. Hayes and they had there children: Edgar M. [8] Peavey, Albert H. [8] Peavey and Beulah. Beulah married Mr. Gowell and now resides in Swampscott,
Massachusetts. Edgar M. [8] Peavey died in 1929 in Abington,
Albert H. [8] Peavey was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and lived there for some time, marrying Cora Belle Hutchins there in 1889 (T.R.). The town records also state that he had at least two children: Zana, born in 1890 and LeRoy [9] Peavey, born in 1892. Miss Maud Vesta Howard thinks he now lives in Abington, Massachusetts. So much for descendants of James Farrington [7] Peavey, born in 1848. His sister Sarah E., born in 1847, married George Howard, and now at 83, lives with her daughter, Maud V. Howard in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Simon Fillmore [7] Peavey, born in 1854, Sarah's brother, is in New York, associated with his son, Simon F. [8] Peavey, Jr., a New York attorney. I have had some very pleasant talks with both. Simon F. [7] Peavey, Sr. was with the |
