Colonel Anthony's [4] will in 1818 mentions a son , Abel [5] Peavey. Abel [5] is first mentioned on the Farmington tax lists in 1819. Evidently he was born about 1795, as the town reports state that he died in Farmington in 1871, aged 76 years. The town records say he married Mary Henderson of Rochester in 1822. It appears that Col. Anthony [4] named him for his grandfather, Abel [3] Peavey of Newington. From 1851 to 1854 he is taxed for real estate in Rochester, but evidently did not live there. He witnessed a deed for his father in 1816. His death is reported by the town, as above stated, in 1871.

Samuel H. [5] Peavey son of Col. Anthony [4], was first taxed in Farmington in 1822 and then on until at least 1828.

A Thomas [ ] Peavey is first listed on the Farmington tax list in 1814, but is there only until 1817, and in 1816 Farmington records show him to have married Susannah Nichols of Ossipee in 1816. Evidently he was born about 1793, but, whose son he was, I do not know. A Thomas [ ] Peavey, Jr. is also mentioned in Ossipee, as having a child born there in 1851.

There is an Issiah [ ] Peavey taxed in Farmington from 1824 to 1827. Who he was is a conjecture, but possibly he is the Issiah [ ] of Alton woo, according to Farmington records, married Abigail H. Peavey of Farmington in 1822.

***************

Now a word about Edward [4] Peavey of New Durham. He was on the Revolutionary War Rolls and died in 1777. Was he a son of Thomas [3] Peavey of Rochester? Thomas [3] was married in 1740. We already know of several of his sons, but do not place Edward (4) among them - Edward's [4] will in the Stratford County probate, mentions his wife, Lucy and his oldest son, William [5] Peavey also children Nary, John [6] Peavey, Lucy, Joshua [6] Peavey, Sally, Benjamin [6] Peavey and Joseph [6] Peavey. It seems rather improbable that he would have had all these children, by the time of his death if he were a son of Thomas [3].
