land in that same year, and just prior to 1890, the name of "Chandler" is on the Rochester tax lists.

Daniel [4], (Thomas [3] - Abel [2] - Edward [1]) received land from his father in 1771, and in 1774 was taxed in Rochester. He is reported in Captain Badger's company in the Revolution of 1776 and in 1793 held a minor Rochester town office. In 1790 and 1795 he was taxed in Rochester, but from 1799 to 1816 was taxed in Farmington. From 1800 to 1802 he deeded land to Anthony [5] Peavey and to his son, Daniel [5] Peavey, Jr. His wife, Mary, is mentioned in these deeds - all in Farmington. In 1806 he was taxed in Rochester. Abraham [ ] Peavey was taxed in Rochester in 1795 to 1798. James [ ] Peavey was taxed in Rochester in 1804. Simon [ ] Peavey lived in Rochester from 1810 to 1816 and from 1822 to 1847 inclusive according to the tax lists.

There was an Edward [ ] Peavey taxed In Farmington in 1801 and 1802. An Edward [ ] Peavey and Daniel [ ] Peavey Jr. witnessed a deed from Daniel [ ] Peavey, Sr. to Anthony [ ] Peavey in 1802. Whose son Edward [ ] Peavey was we do not know, but possibly a son of Daniel [ ] Peavey, Sr.

Daniel [5] Peavey, Jr. was first taxed in Farmington in 1804, and then to 1808. His name is not on the lists after this. In 1805 he married Mrs. Hannah Young. He was mentioned in Farmington deeds in 1802. From 1823 to 1828 Farmington tax lists mention a Daniel. Probably this was a son of Daniel [5].

Jacob [5] Peavey is on tax lists in Farmington from 1804 to 1807, and with Paul [5] Peavey (probably Colonel Anthony's [4] son) was a witness to a deed in 1802.

Paul [5] Peavey, evidently the one mentioned as a son in Col. Anthony's [4] will, is first taxed in Farmington in 1806 and from then on to 1828. In
