of Barrington, for a Barrington tax list in 1725 mentions William [2] Peavey of Portsmouth.

The court records at Concord mention William [2] as defendant in a civil suit in 1729. From 1731 to 1735 the Barrington tax records mention not him, but his estate. The Concord archives say that in 1765 John [3] Peavey of Portsmouth was legally possessed of property from the estate of William [2] Peavey, his father. It states that this land in Portsmouth was originally bought by Thomas Pickering. On the document, releases were signed by John's [3] sisters, Mary (Peavey) Sturat, Sarah (Peavey) Dalling, Mehitable (Peavey) Dalling, Samuel Dalling (husband, Abigail (Peavey) Carlo, William Carlo (husband) and Elizabeth (Peavey) Sayward.

Where the William [3], who was baptized in 1715 with Mary lived, we do not know, but in 1742 there was a William [3] Peavey on the Barrington tax list, which is after William [2] died. The probate records for Barrington show a will made in 1800 by William [3] Peavey. The will mentions his wife Anna and daughters Hannah (Peavey) Hall, Elizabeth, Susannah (Peavey) Page, Mary (Peavey) Fernald) —also Anna and John [4] Peavey, children of his late son William [3] Peavey. He named his son, Pomfrey (Pomphret) [3] Peavey his executor, and the will was proved in 1819. It looks as if this is the son of William [2] Peavey of Portsmouth.

In 1771 the Portsmouth South Church records show the marriage of a William [ ] Peavey to Priscilla (Brock). Priscilla died a widow, her will being filed in 1784. In 1788 there was a William on the Barrington tax list and also in 1796 and 1803. In 1742 the Portsmouth South Church records show a Mehitable to have been received into full connection. (There is a record, also, that she was born in 1721). The
