Jacquet Genealogy

Mail Me

Hello, and welcome to the genealogical wanderings of Jim Jacquet. This site was created for the purpose of disseminating JACQUET family history that was gathered by my late mother, Dorothea Lohner Jacquet, in 1967. I have also added  notes and findings from my  research, and from the generous help of several cousins, possible cousins, and fellow amateur genealogists found on the internet. My thanks to them!

    Dorothea Lohner Jacquet (1908-1980)

Mom's work was extensive, and based initially on notes and observations of my grandfather, Edward Alexis Jacquet (1873-1948). Neither of them had access to the ever-expanding research tools of the internet, but what they did have was even more important: the memories and written letters of now-deceased elderly relatives, some of whom were only a generation removed from the people who came over on the packet ships.

(However, as one of my brothers pointed out to me recently, this is only a part of the story. We are now, at this far remove, only partly French. We also have French-Canadian, and German, and probably a lot else.)

It is an interesting, ever-expanding story, and one that I am sure will continue to occupy my time as I try to find more and more information. Please come back often to see what has been added. And, needless to say, if you have any relevant information that should be here, contact
