On the 1880 census of Jackson Twp, Albia, 17 year old Charles is living with parents and three siblings.

On the 1900 census, Charles and Nellie say married three years. His sister, Elizabeth Wilson, and her two sons are living in their household.

On the 1925 census Jackson Co, Melrose, Charles owns home free, value $1200, insured for $700. He completed his 6th reader and grade 6. Born Wisconsin, parents born in Ireland but were married in Ohio.

DEATH: Death record: Charles Whelan, age 71 years 10 months 9 days Retired farmer, Married. Died: July 11, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant Hospital from Senility. Born: Wisconsin. [Date calculator sets birth date as 2 Sep. 1862]
