Family History:

My grandmother's name was Zanna Mae STREICH. She was born September 4,1900 in Halletsville ( Lavaca Co.) Tx. Her parents were Charles Fredric STREICH and Francis ( Fannie) DUFNER. They moved to San Saba, Tx. around 1904 from Halletsville, Tx. to an area called Pecan Grove just outside the city of San Saba. My great-grandfather built a house on the Goldthwaite Highway about eight miles out of San Saba. The house is no longer there, but the big red barn is still standing on the home place. My great grandfather died in 1945 and my great-grandmother came to Ballinger to live until her death in 1958. My grandmother had two sisters Ethel STREICH ROWELL and Jamie STREICH MILLER. My grandmother married John William ( Dick) WATKINS on August 11,1911 in San Saba, Tx. My great-grand parents and my two great aunts and their husbands are buried in the Wallace Creek Cemetery. My grandmother had several DUFNER cousins who lived in San Saba, Tx.

I think my grandmother is the girl to the left of the girl holding the sign.
