Inter. 2. State whether or not you did service as a soldier in the Confederate Army or NavyI was a member of Company D. Capt John Oliver commanding and Col Bradford regiment in the Confederate Army Yes served in the Confederate Army
Inter. 3. If in answer to the foregoing interrogatory you have stated that you have served as a soldier in the Confederate Army, then state in what company and regiment you did serve? Or if you served in the Navy of the Confederate States, then state the time of such service and where you served? I was a member of Company D. Capt John Oliver commanding and Col Bradford regiment in the Confederate Army I first served in Company D, ? 4th? State Troops and afterwards in Company D, inder Colonel Bradford and taken un? I knew said Bill James during 1864 and 1865 while a member of my company, have not seen him since the war- in 1865 I know he enlisted in Company D Capt John Olliver's Company. Bradford regiment and performed the diuties of a soldier for at least two years in the Confederate ArmyI knew Bill James while I was in the Confederate Army under Bradfor and Mann? I served in the same company and regiment with him for Feb 1864 to May 1865
Inter. 5. How Long have you known said . . .and where and when did you first know him? I never knew any other man of the name of Bill James except the one mentioned above. Bill James served in the Confederate Army from Feb 1864 to May 1865 I served with him that long as ? in Sept 5th
I did not know any other Bill Jame in the Army. I knew James by the name of Bill hi name may have been Bill H. I do not ? the H.
