Subject: Surnames

Hi Donna,

I'm just beginning to research my mothers' family.  The names I'm looking for are Erato (Irato on passport), and Foti or Fote. Both from Milazzo, Sicily.

Thank you for the effort you put into genealogy. It helps all of us.

Hi, I'm new to the list and am looking for information about my grandparents. they came from Milazzo, Messina in the 1800s. Names were ANTONINIO IRATO @ FRANCESCA FOTI. IRATO was changed to ERATO in the U.S.A. According to my aunt, Antoninio s' family had an olive orchard in Milazzo and some of the family still live in the area.

I've enjoyed reading all of the messages, and am happy to explore the Sicilian side of my nature.

Something more than Festa Italiana in Milwaukee.

p.s. Does anyone know what di Stefano means? My grandfathers' passport lists his name as Irato Antoninio, di Stefano.
