Subject: [ITA-SICILY-L] Alagnia / Alagna

I have a handwritten document showing that my ggrandmother's last name was Alagnia.  I've heard that she was from Palermo and came to NY around 1900.  Does Alagnia sound familiar to anyone or could her name have been Alagna.  It's just that I've seen the name Alagna listed in some of the Italian mail groups but I've never seen Alagnia. Any comments on this name are welcome and thanks to all of you for all the help in the past!
