Subject: [{ITA-SICILY-L}] Re: LaPaglia

Geez, I am not having much luck on the LaPaglia name.

I know they lived in New York. I assumed that is their port of entry. But can't find a year. I have a twenty year span in which they would have come over here from Sicily. 1880 - 1907 Can you tell me how I can find a shorter time span to look in? The dates I have are 1880, the year of my great grandfathers birth (who was born in Sicily) through 1907 the year my great uncle was born ( in New York). I don't know how to go about the search.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Kara

Hi,

I have found that the Locascio name is quite common. I too, have a small link to the Locascio name but am overwhelmed by the number of others searching for that name as well. I have not done any research regarding my link to the Locascio's.  My info is as follows:

Guiseppa Locascio, married to Salvatore LaPaglia. Their son, Angelo LaPaglia (born 1880) would be my Great Grandfather. It is rumored they are from Palermo, Sicily. I know Angelo came over here but I don't know if his parents ever immigrated.

Sad, but that is all I know.
